I've checked that the Vostro 1400 doesn't have Windows 7 drivers. On the web, some people succesfully installed windows 7 on their 1400. I'm sure it will install, but the question is, did they get all the necessary drivers to work?
any bros here tried to upgrade their Vostro 1400 to Windows 7 ? was it worth the upgrade, in terms of windows performance improvement ?

I'm thinking of upgrading because Vostro 1400 on Vista is slow. I'm hoping that Windows 7 will be much faster.

anyone upgraded their Vostro 1400 to Windows 7 ?

How long does it take to get to you from your order date? Planning to get the XPS 1645 as well... but worried about the slow service i read...

How long does your side takes to change a fan?

Depending on the model and availability of parts.
If we stock them, can collect within same day.
Otherwise it takes about 3 to 4 days for parts to arrive from Dell's Parts Depot in Malaysia and replacement.

Hi dell users,

i'm looking to buy Dell Precision M6400. But i went to funan, they dont have a display set for me to look and feel. I'm just wondering if i should wait for the IT show next week? Do they exibit/sell their higher end models there? And can advise what freebies do they usually give out. Or is it cash and carry or do we have to wait.

First time buying laptop at IT show. Thanks!

XPS M1330 failing again!

Well guess what, my dear Dell XPS M1330 is failing again. As some of you may know, the motherboard was replaced when the GPU overheated and burnt the motherboard along with it, that was back in July 2009.

Dell replaced the motherboard FOC (after trying to cheat me of $400 by telling me that i need to extend the warranty before they'd send Tech Support).

Now, barely 9 months later, the motherboard/GPU is overheating again... Why? simply because Dell replaced the original faulty motherboard with another faulty motherboard, flashed the bios to update the fan profile (so it spins faster ALL the time) and tell us the problem is solved!

Well, the problem is not solved and for those of you with this model, take heed.

I'm preparing to take this up with CASE Singapore mid-April.

for those of you who have this same Notebook and have suffered at the hands of Dell, pls do email me at zechraffie@yahoo.co.uk. A bigger voice will certainly help.

I'll appreciate your help in spreading the word around, put it on your facebook, twitter, etc.

Its about time Dell take us seriously

As for me, i'm going to call Dell tomorrow and get them to replace my motherboard (ONCE AGAIN).

Call them again to replace :) keep doing it until 1 week before your extended warranty runs out, then do it one last time :)

Pls join the Facebook group People Against Dell, with a bigger voice, i hope we can get Dell to do something about the problem in Singapore.

Or if you know of someone with a similar problem, please refer them to me. i'd be glad to help :)

Cheers,

Hmm, from what i know, u can buy from some shops, but i think cannot customise it and usually they only sell those basic models from inspiron series and maybe alienware, high end not sure whether got sell..

And must check warranty whether it's valid from dell...

if you go to dell direct stores, then u have to wait for it to deliver as it not cash and carry
but u can also go to dell official retailer to buy and get on the spot
