Dell Monitors - S vs P vs U series

I just brought Dell P2319H at $229 (Challenger Bugis), so far meet my expectation.
I didn't choose S series due to:

- Stand not movable, panel cannot tit
- P & U panel are much better than S (Premium panel)
- USB ports on the side very handy (Depend on model)
S series don't have this

Go for P or U are good choices, I used to owned a U series but
this time I try P and I didn't regret.
For P & U there are various modes even gaming so nothing to worry
except your budget.

U series are colour calibrated out of factory. They also have zero bright pixel warranty. Think this is the main advantage over P series

P series too expensive and i don't need the super high color accuracy. I don't use image software for a living.

S series too many tn panel. Good for gaming due to low latency.

So, go for U series. Jack of all trades.

I'm leaning towards the P2319H but it has a matt screen, I heard it makes the colours less vivid and less sharp

Alot of people prefer it because at least when you are working at it, it doesnt acts like a mirror. It is kind of irritating when you can see your windows, door, yourself together with what you are working at on screen...

There is a msi 1080p 144hz va panel on sale now @$289. Very good deal. 144hz your gaming and Web surfing will be so damn smooth. And the va panel high contrast ideal for watching movie. Colors almost as good as ips except viewing angle not so good as ips but not an issue unless u got 4 or 5 ppl watching together lol.

My 3.5 years old U series flickers every 10-12secs after switching it on for 2hrs. The first 2hrs are fine. Anyone knows how to resolve this? No warranty left.

Try plugging into a different socket, preferably not into an extension? Or try with a different power cable? If issue still persist, then time to change.

Time to get new one... If the problem only occurs after 2 hours of using, I doubt it's external factors already... Like old people, can walk is can walk but cannot walk for long then one day walk also cannot walk.

I tried multiple sockets, even switching between HDMI and DP cables, ports but still the same problem. Yes, I think it's time to change, just nice when the warranty is just over.

Hi, may I know your experience with it? And what do you do on the desktop?

I used it extensively at home for web surfing and document work, and occasionally stream YouTube videos (for sports highlights) and also sports live streaming.

No gaming at all, and no photo-editing work etc

The Comfortview mode is ideal if you'll be using the monitor for extended period of time, and there is space beneath the monitor to put a soundbar if you need since the height is adjustable. Choose the size accordingly to the viewing distance of your intended usage, I got the P series after reading some glowing assessment from fellow users here
