DELL STREAK USERS COME IN !!!

Hi all,

just got a dell streak a few days ago, while testing the set, it seemed fine. but with the batt almost die.

after i got home, the batt had already drained out so i plugged it into main. it perhaps started to charge and startup but it stuck on the dell screen logo.

after that i took out the battery since it hung there for so long.

then it stuck at a screen showing a battery with 0% and exclamation mark and would then off again.

does anyone know what to do with this?

it is a starhub set and still under warranty but where should i go? to dell or starhub?

Go back StarHub if still in unrooted condition. My take is that they have to absorb as defective & replace new for you.

Yes, i still need help. my streak is just in my locker because i cant do anything about it. can you help me? or know anyone who knows how to fix it?

so im assuming that if u do factory reset, ur dialer wont come back on? and by system dialer you mean the phone dialer?

aSSUMIng ur rooted, i have

few suggestions,

1) find the Phone.apk and put it in your system/app and install (donno if this would work but why not)
2) run recovery and flash to Streakdroid 2.4.4, super best rom.

Yeah . MIUI is good imo . Battery power also better than CM7 imo .

What are my options?

Saw some bros mentioned that the cracked LCD or gorilla glass is not covered by Starhub warranty.

What options do I have to get the set repaired? and the 3rd party repair service location (since Dell is charging over-priced for the repairs), and how much would it cost me?

I think you try to check with Starhub see whether warranty can cover or not . If no , then look for either laohor or smallobjects loh .

Mine cracked too but expiry is sometime June 2012.Got pissed 'cos StarHub refer me to Dell.Dell also rejected me at SGD300 for repair.

Try search Internet for repair which is about SGD100~SGD130.

How long does your battery last for Streak? Mine at DSC 0.1 and running slightly worse than 0.74 Phoenix Kernel 3 minimized.Tried CM7 too but doesn't even last 5hrs even without 3G, Wifi, etc...

Install Root Explorer and run it. Should give a small prompt Super User will appear asking for permission. You then "Allow" it so you can also explore system files as well.

SystemApp Remover but it is a shareware of sort.It can meet your requirement but requires Rooting First.

Got lobang for batteries? So far Mugen is the better choice. I'd some cheaper China Brands but all failed less than 1 week.Bought cheap from eBay though

Mine also from Ebay. Still going strong leh. Maybe you could try this shop in Toa Payoh. Try searching for the shop's address in VR zone.

i got my cheap dell streak batteries from ebay too but seem that the seller is nowhere to be found any idea got gd links?

Battery performance of my Dell Streak using OEM battery bought from the net. Rated at 1800mAh (I doubt! )

The battery meter goes crazy once in awhile ... and resumes ...
