Not too sure abt this cos I got it from dell online shop and it is autoregistered by dell for my case. As for the service tag number I believe it is the serial number found on the back of yr panel starting with cn-oxp3wk- something.

I still have no answer to the abv. Anyway, I have keep the invoice as well as photocopy of the particulars that were stick to the carton box and assume warranty is valid as long as I have these :)

hmmm may I know what is yr screen manufactured date and rev, cobi?

It's Aug 2011

Btw have u seen any tinting issues on the screen when u look at solid white backgnd, meaning any patches of pinkish tone on certain parts or part of screen having yellowish patches as seen in my case (pls see my post on page 9 with links to the pics posted) ?

Mine looks fine. I use it in my office for spreadsheet and email only.

u can adjust yr screen to the brightest or by default 75 for brightness and contrast and check carefully.
(For my case, my color tinting issue wont go away even if I calibrate the screen, I need to see if I need to get my place replaced again if this is not common for the rest who currently using u2312, hope the rest of you can kindly advise on this)

I did a simple 'test' using the presets, no screen problem.
Another test, using excel spreadsheet and maximise the window screen, then I select the whole spreadsheet and select color backgrounds. So far all colors look uniform to me.

Recently also read that dell u2412 also having tinting issue( which was released together with u2312 just that it bigger and aspect ratio of 16:10),
so was wondering if u guys have any color tints prob with u2312hm instead when looking straight at the screen from centre so far? any uneven color patches on pure white backgnd screen?

Maybe if I have another 23" screen of another brand than I can make a comparison.. IMHO :)

hello all

like all of u i own the same products as you guys...but to my sadness of owning this monitor makes me lose my money like hell ->>

well i mean that i spend quite a lot of money in order to test if the DP can use a DP to DVI/HDMI cable and to my surprise....NONE of it works.....and from some web info i got ; the staff of Dell tell them this: "We only try on DP to DP cables on DP. We never ask you to sell Dp to HDMI cables to your customer."

So i was like WTF???? I SPENT 80 SGD just to find the right one and to find this out....

of course at the end change with the shopkeeper for other stuff and end up spent 100SGD.....SERIOUSLY???? YUP!!!

so those of you out there who has try out like me and manage to work out DP to HDMI/DVI i might wan to get, if not....I do hope that you wont go spending ur money like me....

^ you should have bought the $600 dollar 24incher with "factory calibrated setting"

the slight pink tint only noticeable during afternoon when I look at outside window then turn back indoor to look at google's white background
no problem at all for normal usage

Hmm the $600++ 24 inch that u mention is dell u2410 , that 1 have serious tinting issue, alot ppl say 1 half of screen is pink tint and the other half of it is green tint and that 1 not using led de...and the product almost end of life de. else I actually was considering that.

so in otherwords, may I say that u also faced tinting issue when u look straight at the screen when using white backgnd whether indoor or outdoor(not due to sunlight reflection issue) . If so, seem like this product by default has tinting issues de.

Cobi, thanks for the feedback.
maybe u can try dl this progrma from the web, it's free and it is a useful dead pixel tester program and it is def more accurate to test based on the red, green , blue, white , black and yellow screen in the program.
(pls add in h in front of link) ttp://udpix.free.fr/,

see if u really get uniform white or any color tinting problem when look at pure white screen. would like to hear more from u....

Wish to know any tinting issue before I decide to ask for any replacement...
Are u using dvi port or vga port on yr dell monitor to connect ?

I used 25 brightness and 60 contrast on standard preset. The white is perfect.

Does anyone observe that this monitor has a problem watching high speed content? Like for example, even in scenes where the camera simply moves from left to right or vice versa, there is a perceived delay that can be seen. The update seems to be from top to bottom, and sometimes we see the results in between the updates.

Dell U2312HM warranty registration

Just to share about my experience with new dell u2312hm ips led monitor so that others who are considering this monitor will lower their expectations before they buy.
I am quite disappointed with it and I think it isn't that great as various reviews mentioned. It seems to have non uniform color on white backgnd and color tint problems.

This is also my first ips panel I get from dell and after reading reviews I got the dell monitor (manufactured nov 2011, rev 02) in early Jan 2012 and I test it on deadpixel tester program to check for dead pixel (running thro solid RBG colors) and realised on a white backgnd , the white color are not uniform at all, I get pinkish tint presence on my right half of the screen and abit more duller white on my left half of my screen.
(I connect the screen to my new selfbuilt system and a new graphic card 560ti and connect via dvi to dvi and also try to connect the screen to my laptop using vga cable, color tinting problem still persists so there isn't anything wrong with my system graphic card)

I called Dell for replacement since it is under their premium 3 years replacement and to make the story shorter, I had replaced it three times (the replacement screen seem worse than the previous screen eg having yellow tints and duller, shades of grey underlying color on my white backgnd and finally I had to complaint and make noise to the customer service for the third replacement to come and it arrived recently (it is brand new from dell factory, indicated as manufactured in dec 2011, rev 02).

However, this 3rd replacement still have pink tint issues and other issues see pics taken using a canon digicam:
see (pls add h infront of the links cos got problem posting images and links here)

Firstly guys, u can see that bottom left and right of screen is not welllitted showing obvious dark grey shaded spots.
Secondly U can see on left hand side, there pinkish tint on the screen and thirdly top right corner, u can see there 's greyish (shadowish) spots at top right hand corners and it is a large patch.

In fact, have called and complainted to the customer service agent yesterday since previous 4 customer service agents keep telling me no1 else has such problem with this model and also emailed him the issue along with the pictures taken. He checked and tell me that the technical side say and confirmed that it is normal and not possible to get uniform white and for dell monitors either u get more or less of the problems like pink, yellow, brown tints. He told me that if I want I can still ask for 1 last replacement with no refund and if the screen still have such issue den have to live with it , otherwise they can do me a full refund since the screen can't live up to my expectations.
The customer service agent from dell finally admitted that such problem exists and tell me off by saying not possible to get any monitor with uniform white screen and I can take the refund and get other brands(bad customer retention in this case) but seriously, I wasn't expecting perfect white but at least no such tints problem.

Guys, Can I also kindly check with u all, if u all have such tinting issues when u view solid uniform white backgnd while looking straight at the centre of white screen. I can't be having such bad luck encountering problems with the 3 replacements sets.

hope u all can also give yr honest views as I am also sick of asking for replacement and only to get more disappointments.
Thank you.

Hi,
can you please advise whether you need to register your warranty with Dell. I am not able to register because they keep asking me to key in the service tag no. and I can find it on the monitor. Thanks and have a great weekend.

This flyer says Sitex? On IT show thread, it's 5yr warranty now. Wonder if buying online/SLS gets 5yr too?
