bought this afternoon $259 from PC Themes...was told 5 years warranty from Dell...need to go online register ;cannot find service tag from the set,cannot register online (the receipt printed 3 years warranty) ???
this model U2412M offfical warranty 3 years or 5 years?

Me too, cant register at all coz no service tag. Apparently Dell LCD monitors does not come with service tag. Best is to keep your receipt in case anything happens

just called Dell hotline,
Dell told me U2412M monitor is a premium product come with 5 years warranty..Do not need to register online....need to produce the receipt for future warranty claim.

Where got auto 5yr warranty de? They smoke u izzit? When u go online buy they give u the option of 5yr warranty for extra $50 bucks if not standard is 3yrs de..

Heard the LCD stand is plastic instead of metal compared to previous generation.

Is it equally stable, esp if you need to pivot, swivel often ?

Chatted online with Dell sales, asking about online Comex price for U2412M.

Know that Comex selling for 369 but the online sales told me it's 439 and that's the only price they can give, WTF. Asked him why rrp in Comex brochure is 399, still cheaper than their online 'promo' price. He said that's retail price, another crap. So online is not retail ah? Stupid.

In the end went to SLS and got it much lower, even lower than Comex'
