Hi bros, anyone has the PosturePilot H3 headrest (aeron) from unwanted imports? Want to hear about some reviews about this headrest, currently contemplating between this and the atlas headrest~

wheels are easier , universal with other chairs
buy the rollerblade type that is very popular , within $12 to $20 for a set .... side effect is it raise the minimum height up slightly

armrest can put a sock over it as cover

seat and backrest just use any generic fabric cover with stretchyness

Hoot Hinomi H2 Pro with leg rest for about $540 during Shopee's super tech day. Any thoughts on the performance of this brand?

Dismantled my Remastered Aeron to wash.
Now smells like new.

All the food bits i gathered in the crevices and stains are gone.
Back to the original shade with a shiny surface on the mesh, i think those food stains made it dull and a little brownish, or it could be something else. :(

I usually wash every 2 years but it has not much dust since using the Breathshield cover, i just clean for fun.
The cover is now getting dried after being washed in the washing machine.

I used to have so much dust in two years , I can make a pillow out from it.

Read from reddit harsh chemical like alcohol, bleach, etc can damage the mesh, either from cleaners or from clothings. A lot of people killed their chairs during covid with excessive cleaning.
I clean with caster oil soap, gives it some moisturising. The oil will leave the dirt naturally just like it does to my beautiful skin. :o

Totally hand washed with room temperature water without any brush, heard high heat could damage the mesh too. :o

For the lower section, i use my handheld vacuum and duster + a wet towel to wipe all the dust off. I took the top cover off and clean under the tap.
This is the duster i use, it's better than canned spray.

I cleaned it outside my place, and blew all the dust towards my neighbour. :(

The H top cover closer to the back of the mechanism is harder to remove, you need to ply the latch.

The only part not very clean are the casters, they do work very well though.
The problem is the hair caught in the wheels, which i'm lazy to get them out.

It might be difficult for users to remove the seat, the screw is torqued very tight. The correct tool to use is a breaker bar.
Don't cross thread or damage the thread, sure lose the warranty and it's very obvious. It can be tricky or a trap for novice to damage their chair at this part

If you manage to remove both seat and back, the arms will easily come off, this explains why i use the thick rubber band to secure it in position

If you don't know or cannot remove the seat, then just turn it upside down and spray clean it with water or just wipe with water. cover the mechanism and gas spring so it won't rust from moisture. If it did, use a blow dryer and dry immediately.

Allow one full day to dry before placing it back, because you won't want the bolts to rust after fitting them back.

This particular chair bought from Unwantedimports 7 years ago.
Only replaced the wheels in the past, the original ones broke all the time till i fed up and changed to their wheels. So far so good :o

You didn't remove the mesh?

There is a gap between the meshes of the seat and the back, if you wash the seat and back without dismantling it, the inside wont be dry and the inside of the nail and plastics will start to corrode.

In fact, there's a lot of dirt stuck between the mesh and the seat/back due to nature of the design and its also the hardest part to assemble back.

I did full disassembly before (incl the mesh).

As mentioned in my first line, I've already flushed the crevices that you mentioned clean, i don't see the point to clean parts which i can't see or touch. :o

I've tried long ago, the mesh frame is glued with epoxy or glue to the main frame.
If try and force it out, the net holder could snap or it will not be secure as it was.
I don't see the need to create a problem for nothing. :s13:

These are coated S/S screws, they won't corrode that easily. plastic won't corrode like that either.
The sweat from bbfra may corrode it more. :o

Since you didn’t remove the mesh, any dirt, sweat, moisture, and your 'food nonsense' is still trapped between the layers is still inside, there's no way they are all getting out through that tiny gap.

I’m not saying you have to fully remove the mesh when you clean, but why would you "wash" and intentionally trap water in the gaps to create a breeding ground for bacteria that can accelerate the degradation of the nails and plastic at that area of the chair. They do have a bit of resistance but that's not meant for what you are doing here.

At the end of the day, it’s your chair and your call, I’m just worried for anyone else who might follow your lead :s13:.

Currently using a Sihoo M57, thinking of upgrading to something ~$700. Should I just save for a HM instead of considering a mid-range upgrade? I don't really have any complaints tbh, I think just itchy backside wanna try something new/better

It's going for a really low price on Shopee right now — throw in some coupons and you can get it for under 1K, with a free headrest included.

If you straight-line depreciate it over 10 years, that’s less than $100 per year. Pretty good value.

That said, comfort really depends on your posture. Some people love it, others can’t stand it — one person’s meat is another’s poison.
