Dismantled my Remastered Aeron to wash.
Now smells like new.
All the food bits i gathered in the crevices and stains are gone.
Back to the original shade with a shiny surface on the mesh, i think those food stains made it dull and a little brownish, or it could be something else.
I usually wash every 2 years but it has not much dust since using the Breathshield cover, i just clean for fun.
The cover is now getting dried after being washed in the washing machine.
I used to have so much dust in two years , I can make a pillow out from it.
Read from reddit harsh chemical like alcohol, bleach, etc can damage the mesh, either from cleaners or from clothings. A lot of people killed their chairs during covid with excessive cleaning.
I clean with caster oil soap, gives it some moisturising. The oil will leave the dirt naturally just like it does to my beautiful skin.
Totally hand washed with room temperature water without any brush, heard high heat could damage the mesh too.
For the lower section, i use my handheld vacuum and duster + a wet towel to wipe all the dust off. I took the top cover off and clean under the tap.
This is the duster i use, it's better than canned spray.

I cleaned it outside my place, and blew all the dust towards my neighbour.
The H top cover closer to the back of the mechanism is harder to remove, you need to ply the latch.
The only part not very clean are the casters, they do work very well though.
The problem is the hair caught in the wheels, which i'm lazy to get them out.
It might be difficult for users to remove the seat, the screw is torqued very tight. The correct tool to use is a breaker bar.
Don't cross thread or damage the thread, sure lose the warranty and it's very obvious. It can be tricky or a trap for novice to damage their chair at this part
If you manage to remove both seat and back, the arms will easily come off, this explains why i use the thick rubber band to secure it in position
If you don't know or cannot remove the seat, then just turn it upside down and spray clean it with water or just wipe with water. cover the mechanism and gas spring so it won't rust from moisture. If it did, use a blow dryer and dry immediately.
Allow one full day to dry before placing it back, because you won't want the bolts to rust after fitting them back.
This particular chair bought from Unwantedimports 7 years ago.
Only replaced the wheels in the past, the original ones broke all the time till i fed up and changed to their wheels. So far so good
