Is it more worth to buy Classic over Remastered then? I se Shopee second hand fully loaded Classic is about $300 less than brand new Remastered on sales day.

Classic front seat has this foam pad on thigh. From my experience, such foam will deteriorate over time and cause black bits..

Thoughts?

Suggest you try both and see which one you prefer.

For $300 difference, I would rather buy new. The mesh will deteriorate with use and it is expensive to replace.

my bad typo. Should be fully loaded Classic cost less than $300 vs new Remastered.

I tried both before. To me not very different. Only can tell that Remastered definitely bouncier.

Classic mesh seems to be very durable 🤔

The Classic mesh is indeed durable. My Classic seat mesh lasted more than ten years.

However, replacement is expensive. Cost me more than S$400 just to replace the seat and gas lift. (With Aerons being so cheap nowadays (compared to cost of replacement parts), I would just get another one when the current mesh gives out.)

Maybe can try the office logix mesh replacement before you throw the old one away? pricing look ok.

I had both for quite some time, i suggest that you get the remastered.

Classic has a problem with being very noisy, it can creak a lot and gets worse over time. I sprayed lubricant and oil all over and nothing works. The mesh and back support is very rigid. My mesh had a minor tear and none on my remastered.
The classic is really not really as comfortable if you compare and sit side by side. The mesh for the classic is much stiffer, so u can feel pressure points poking onto you. The above two problems are still the issue with many brands of mesh chairs.

Remastered is more springy and feels more natural imo, weight really distributed totally with no pressure pts. Mine still has no noise which is very important if you are sleeping with a spouse and u sleep late at night.

The main problem with my old classic i think is the mechanism, really ******* noisy like old rocking chair and looks like going to give way anytime. Mine was quite rusted inside, u can only see if you dismantle it, i think it's very hard to savage.
I ever went to this reseller in AMK, the mechanism inside are also equally rusty, dusty and corroded. The lubricant already dried up or combined with thick dust to form clogs.
Resellers can wash the mesh but can't wash the mechanism or derust it easily.

Had 2 classic and remastered for about 8 years each, I gave away the classic, heard one has the up down mechanism already failed and the other the tilt don't know what problem. So you won' know how much life is left in the mechanism and gas spring for used chairs. If they refurbish the gas spring, China gas springs are known to explode causing bloody mess, i won't trust those.

Dismantled my remastered Aeron to wash a few months ago, the mechanism still looks like new, i think that's even more important. They use coated stainless steel to give additional protection, and inside has some brass parts which will never rust. For the classic aerons, it's mainly raw steel that are prone to rust, i go dig out the old photo if i'm free. I have a dozen remastered Aerons in the office, all okay too. Just don't wipe with aggressive detergent and make sure your clothes don't have resideual bleach, read somewhere bofore it can cause damage to the mesh. You can put a breathable cover to protect the mesh but there's nothing u can to protect the mechanism.

Dismantled my Remastered Aeron to wash.
Now smells like new.

All the food bits i gathered in the crevices and stains are gone.
Back to the original shade with a shiny surface on the mesh, i think those food stains made it dull and a little brownish, or it could be something else. :(

I usually wash every 2 years but it has not much dust since using the Breathshield cover, i just clean for fun.
The cover is now getting dried after being washed in the washing machine.

I used to have so much dust in two years , I can make a pillow out from it.

Read from reddit harsh chemical like alcohol, bleach, etc can damage the mesh, either from cleaners or from clothings. A lot of people killed their chairs during covid with excessive cleaning.
I clean with caster oil soap, gives it some moisturising. The oil will leave the dirt naturally just like it does to my beautiful skin. :o

Totally hand washed with room temperature water without any brush, heard high heat could damage the mesh too. :o

For the lower section, i use my handheld vacuum and duster + a wet towel to wipe all the dust off. I took the top cover off and clean under the tap.
This is the duster i use, it's better than canned spray.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/i-bought-this-powerful-air-duster.7110400/
I cleaned it outside my place, and blew all the dust towards my neighbour. :(

The H top cover closer to the back of the mechanism is harder to remove, you need to ply the latch.

The only part not very clean are the casters, they do work very well though.
The problem is the hair caught in the wheels, which i'm lazy to get them out.

It might be difficult for users to remove the seat, the screw is torqued very tight. The correct tool to use is a breaker bar.
Don't cross thread or damage the thread, sure lose the warranty and it's very obvious. It can be tricky or a trap for novice to damage their chair at this part

If you manage to remove both seat and back, the arms will easily come off, this explains why i use the thick rubber band to secure it in position

If you don't know or cannot remove the seat, then just turn it upside down and spray clean it with water or just wipe with water. cover the mechanism and gas spring so it won't rust from moisture. If it did, use a blow dryer and dry immediately.

Allow one full day to dry before placing it back, because you won't want the bolts to rust after fitting them back.

This particular chair bought from Unwantedimports 7 years ago.
Only replaced the wheels in the past, the original ones broke all the time till i fed up and changed to their wheels. So far so good :o

thanks for sharing. interesting your experience with Classic is different and ur remastered so far so good :) ur remastered got from Shopee?

maybe I'll take the risk with Remastered. Read that some people use fabric glue to prevent further fraying/tearing.

second hand classic at less than $300 ?
last time i look at second hand advertisement , even $380 got tear points on mesh and i think delivery excluded
it's not apple to apple comparison because there are mesh defects that can worsen , that's why the dealer put it lowest price in the market

for 200+ budget might as well buy brand new china chair

in my opinion , as long brand new 800-890 , just buy it and move on .... put fabric cover and don't sit on it when wearing pants with metal zipper and buckle ... don't crash land into the chair
11.11 is coming up .... make your decision , don't drag until next year still considering

I saw Audiosg sell fabric cover but dk if it will take the mesh feel away or become less breathable leh. And maybe the fabric cover might even cause it to tear (extra friction)

as long physical dimensions fit the wide shoulders , any sort of $10-20 grade no-brand generic fabric cover can work .... no need to buy from the same shop
i haven't search on shopee yet , will buy 1 more cover to swap

whatever the material used , is still more gentle than guy's pants fabric

How do you all find vouchers to stack to get 880+ for brand new?

for Shopee Newstar, brand new is 1,099 on 11.11, and I’ve been tracking since since 20 Oct

any recommendation for good lumbar support chair?
Im looking at these 3, Fern, Aeron remastered or Hinomi H2 pro..
I tried aeron before but does not seem to feel any support on lumbar nor special but tried H2 pro the feel on support is good but I did not seat long not sure over period of time how will it feel.
I saw many feedback on aeron remastered having issue, if it worth to pay this amount if it last only 3 years?
