desktop shutdown - MB spoilt need recommendations

Hi Experts;

need some opinion, my DIY desktop this week start to shutdown/restart by itself, sometime it will be ok sometime will ki-siao just restart.

I have done the following and also symptoms;

* no beeping sound indicating RAM error
* no matter it is idle or surfing web using chrome it will sometime restart
* I use the command prompt and check HDD using CIM command it says status ok
* Boot into CMOS mode and leave it there it will also have the restart symptoms (rule out HDD and Wins10 issue)
* CPU fans and all fan are turning when the desktop are ok
* when the symptoms kick it, when total power off and on , can see all the fans turns stop turn stop, (fans meanings all 6 casing fans and CPU fans)

I check event viewer it says kernel power error

Is it motherboard or power supply issue? Any good guess base on the above?

Specs of desktop as below ;

TP67B+ motherboard with I5- 2400 core
1 x 4 gb RAM
FSP 400w PSU
HD5850 Xtreme 1gb graphic card
Samsung 1TB Sata HDD
Windows 10

Thanks for any help or tips.

ok just google it, thanks man. even if intermittent issue it can also detect using this method?

well yes. but still it will be better if u got the time to test with a spare psu (if u have) else send down for RMA (if it still on warranty)

I was troubleshooting my PSU as well just recently, both personally and sending it down to Corbell.

DIY - just download HWinfo and see your 5v 12v and your 3.3v make sure it's stable. Alternatively you can use a multimeter if you know how. much more accurate.

If everything looks good, monitor the voltage while doing some burn-in test, either using prime95 or Sisoftware Sandra.

That's what the Corbell guy did as well when I went there.

Lastly, check your cables too, mine seems to be the cables as they couldn't find any issues with the PSU but were nice enough to replace the cables for me, after which everything asp normal liew.

Kingston DDR4 8GB ram @48

Total: $433

prices quote from tradpac.
