Based on my past 2 experiences, you can get a very nice apartment for the price of a hotel, especially in urban cities so to me it's cheaper in that sense. Whether it's better, its relative.

Some benefits of booking through airbnb is you will be in direct contact with the owner of the apartment and they are also being measured by how fast they respond, so they will want to respond as soon as they can. As compared to hotels who basically have concierge staff to respond to travellers.

Another benefit is you get an entire apartment to yourself (provided you choose the entire apt option when booking), so I see it as almost similar to a hotel suite.

Of course you won't have fnb within the apartment so there's no buffet breakfast but for me, since I'm there why would I want to eat in the hotel when I can be eating the local fare.

I'm actually quite afraid of that.

Some apartments' owners probably hiring professional cleaners which is why they charge it to your booking. If it's already included, I'm quite sure you won't be expected to pay for cleaning after your trip unless parts of the property were damaged which is a different matter.

You're most welcome. This thread is also for those who are curious about airbnb and want to find out more. The total price is transparent so it's not like you'll get charged hidden fees when you reach or sth so comparison should be a lot easier.

But i definitely brought in more pesos than that because I remember I changed quite abit of money to pay the balance for accommodation as well as for the tours and other activities.

There is a Cebu Pacific direct flight SG to Kalibo if you are visiting Boracay. SG to Iloilo if you are an adventurous type and visiting Isla de Higantes

But i definitely brought in more pesos than that because I remember I changed quite abit of money to pay the balance for accommodation as well as for the tours and other activities.

Yea, my partner was concerned since water activities can probably cost up to $100 for 2 a day. With that said, my friend told me the food there is very affordable.

After almost 12 hours of travelling, have finally reached my airbnb apartment. Location is not as near to station 1 as expected or communicated but it's more private and the apartment is perched on a hill so the view is really good. Pity no Sun as it rained all night.

In Boracay now. No rain. Nothing much here except for the beautiful beaches. Beats those in Phuket, Bali, Krabi mann. Very beautiful.

Apart from the beaches, nothing else. Small island. Renting bike is so expensive!

Good for you man. My trip was quite a disaster. Rained 2 out of 3 days as a typhoon was moving past Philippines. Where are you staying at?

At least u got to experience something close to a typhoon. Won't get that in SG.

I am staying at Boracay Ocean Club Beach Resort here at Station 3. Really nothing much here mann. Yesterday and today rode to Puka Beach as its more beautiful than White Beach.

But very wasted la, gloomy skies was a turn off. Have you tried Jonah's shake and real coffee? If you're a water person you probably will want to try cliff diving at Ariel's Point since the weather is good for you.

For those heading there soon, accommodation near station 1 or 2 are good enough. Sadly my airbnb apartment was in the Bulabog area which would have been ideal for water sports, but weather didn't permit us to try.

Personally, i would recommend hotels around Station 2 & 3. Station 3 if you prefer a lesser crowd at the beach. No doubt that Station 2 is the heart of Boracay. I find Station 1 is way too dull.

They have various heights from 3-10m I think. You should try Real Coffee, especially their kalamansi muffins. They serve really hearty breakfast like pancakes and scrambled eggs with toast.

It depends on your personality, some people want to be near D Mall yet don't want the noise at night so station 1 might be ideal. Everything beats Shangri la but I'm sure if you can afford a 3000usd/night villa, I'm sure you have entertainment coming to you.
