you are lucky if you can get 480p from composite rca cable.

most of tv should have hdmi, use hdmi to get FHD.

There are some older TV without hdmi, but come with RGB (or called component) RCA input, this box support RGB too, but the RGB cable are very expensive, about $10-20. Component cable can also support FHD.

Didn't know RCA cable is more expensive than HDMI cable. HDMI cable is only $2 for a short one. Should buy a HDMI cable for 1080p full HD as advised. Thanks.

what is the exact model name for the TV? has dvb-t2 receiver or not?

I am using UA32J5500 Samsung TV. Tried using matv and it works but not with an indoor antenna specifications in my previous post. The matv point is in another room so i could not use it (or i have to pay Starhub to switch my scv point back to matv).

This model has dvb-t2 and dvb-c. When you connect to scv cable point, you should be able to see the digital channel using dvb-c.

If you change to dvb-t2 antenna, you have to re-tune because they are using different frequency and format.

Try re-tune if you have not done so. Try to re-position the antenna to get better signal strength, most of the tuning page show the signal strength, try to get at least 70%.

If still cannot, either you are at blind spot or the antenna you bought is a lemon.

the new digital tv doesn't need that scv/starhub box on the wall

the signal is everywhere like phone signal

yes you need antenna , the box itself need to connect antenna
whether or not that small $1.80 antenna is sufficient you decide .... I guess why not since $1.80 ... if not enough then u buy extension cable bring it closer to window or a more powerful antenna
it's very clear on the qoo10 page .... +1.80 for antenna ... +1.80 for hdmi cable .... if you already have it then don't select ... if don't have and don't select then the box is cannot work

Yup, if TV (old CRT type) doesn't have HDMI port then you need RCA cable which normally is provided free from purchasing the STB.

Main difference is established retailer only sell branded model like NMS, Draco, AC Ryan, Akira, etc. Those PRC sellers on Qoo10, Lazada, Ebay, etc deal with unbranded MIC model.

Features wise are more or less similar, subtitle is a standard feature. PRC model are not certify by Spring Singapore except maybe for the power adapter (so far only Sinho has done that). In short, there is no safety mark on either the STB or power adapter for most of the PRC model.

Also when come to warranty and technical support, don't have much expectation if you brought PRC model. Even though it come with 1yr warranty, it just not worth the time/money to send back. Since 1 branded STB can easily get 3 or more PRC set, just get a few to standby.

Possibly a blind spot or a lemon. I could get 1 or 2 channels when i tried first tunning with the cheapo antenna. The subsequent tunning turns up to be nothing. Called the mediacorp hotline on their website to get their technicians to check on the coverage. Hope i get positive results.

I think coverage is not good. Having hard time tune using this active antenna & Sony KDL-49W750D..

Someone PM me inquiring about which PRC STB model I had purchased, thought I post my reply here instead.

Well, it's the K2 Mini DVB-T2, being unbranded (manufacturer unknown) it's also known by other name. The Qoo10 seller which I brought from did not have it certify but then this is the risk one has to bear for the cheap prices. Anyway as with all electrical/electronic product purchase from oversea, it's unlikely to have the safety mark especially inexpensive item. Somehow I have faith in the K2 as this model has been around for quite a while and have sold thousands all over the world.

Hi, I am staying near Admiralty MRT, using Sony X850D, anyone tried out indoor antenna near my area? My house only got SCV antenna point available. I tried and it is not able to detect any digital channel. Thinking to buy digital antenna but from the Digital TV Map it showed Woodlands/Admiralty area only available in 2016 Q3
