Really tired of standing behind some "exercise" fanatics getting $8 in 1 shot at the BCRS machine

Worst part is everytime you ask them to stop, collect their money and let you get your 1 measly 0.10 back they just ignore you or mumble some unintelligible thing

Ya
Really arses
I saw one doing 112 cans and long queue behind him

Best thing is something c0ck up and after all , that they can't get refund
And they look around desperately
I just have a far away look
I mean I can take the money for them but I won't be helping them

they expect ppl to go to the machine how often?

go 1 time for 1 can/bottle jus for 10cents is jus lame, obviously ppl will try to collect and 1 shot... but keep at home also need some space and can be eyesore
NOT like compile 50 cans and slowly take 30 minutes to do it while long queue behind

Tear away the wrapper and dump into bin. That way, nobody can claim back the $0.10.

We are never talking about recycling.... else recycler will happily accept bottle without wrapper.

Should charge $1 per can/bottle so that people will take the initiative more seriously :(

So many jobs out there like gig work, mcdonald, security that pay much higher, why need to resort to this?

This job is not just financial but physical hardship

Some may have health issue and employers don't want them. My brother-in-law used to be a grab driver. After a very serious heart attack, cannot carry heavy thing. So grab job also gone. Thankfully both kids are adults and working.

was speaking to those fairprice staff that have to empty those machine. was told, if quite tiring, nowadays always have to clear the bin like 8-10 times per day unlike last time. worse, people will complain and made a fuss if machine is full.

apparently, the clearing of the machine is something out of their existing scope.

really stupid scholar for suggesting such ways to tax the people.

everyday, see people going round to pick up cans and bottles. worse, some of those people dont even know how to distinguish which can or bottles can or cant be recycle.

That means whoever at NEA anyhow copy UK deposit return scheme machine design.
They never factor that there are scavengers who recycle bags of can at once.

Copy and paste is never a good idea.
NEA should factor the volume since many are deposit bags of can.
They should do at Recycle point for those who want to recycle bags of can.

Should just let karung guni do the job, let them earn abit. They can go straight from collection to recycle company.

Now put in a machine need additional work. Get people in between to clear and wait for collection. More work more complicated process. Like cost more money. Typical of local way do thing. Can't help feel its all for the money. Difference is money pass to whose hand.

And speaking of scavengers, think is seeing more people rummaging through the recycle bin with their bare hands for scraps of such. Sure will have people throw their recycle trashs there with bottles and cans one.
