I queued behind an old aunty returning 68 bottles and cans! $6.80

I only returning 1 can for 10 cents

35 minutes of my life wasted

This is one thing I will praise boomer aunties. I've experienced a number of times where they either let me go first or give me 10c for my bottle.

This machine no troubleshoot right?
I return the other day, the moving belt move towards me - how to retun like that?
Then machine cannot read the barcode. Then the cans jammed inside the moving belt and cannot proceed.
Waste my time.

Machine surroundings the ground also getting filthy and have ants everywhere.
Really just forget about those machines and have collection point with human instead.

Nice idea to recycle but implementation another story!

put "can drink not healthy issue aside"...even if i buy, i smash the can till barcode cannot scan...now can drink the material very chui....one palm 下去..immediate flatten

I have encountered all sorts of crushed cans and bottles.
Never failed yet.
NEVER.

Those I failed are those with issues
And I think one really crushed bottle
Could have removed the wrapper and "re use" it but nah

Today moi lost 10 cents helping a foreign worker bro return bottles/cans
Really helping him hor, he was there at the machine, not the other kind of "help" in returning the can/bottles.

Anyway, the foreign worker bro wasted like 10 mins trying to return 3 cans, but he didn't understand how to use PayLah, so the machine printed 3x refund tickets (each 10 cents). A few other fellow Sinkies and I try to explain but I don't know if he understand. So end up I gave him my hard-earned 3x 10 cent Singapore coins and take his 3 tickets.

So just now when I was taking a break from Grab, moi took the chance to scan the tickts. Moi noticed that the new refund ticket got a QR code to scan and it will auto-key in the refund details. You just need to provide your name, bank account details and phone. Then wait 10 business days.

While scanning the tickets moi found out that 1 ticket out of the 3 have already been scanned (the system is smart enough to detect repeat scans, duh)! So therefore I lost 10c today.

i understand how devastating the feeling is
i lost 10cents to bcrs too when my 500ml beer can failed to be spinned by the machine to scan the code and i tried 2 machines also same which maked me thinked my can cannot redeem and i throw it away
an uncle was scavenging the bin before i throw and i think he saw me throw and prbably walked back to taked it
after that i tried the same batch of beer can another time with bar code faced up then i realised is cos the machine not spinning it correctly need to put it with bar code up to scan properly
till today it hurted when i thinked of it
