this lousy BCRS policy is causing so much troubles, problems and social discontentment ... it should be abolished immediately ...
Same as tray return gather pests.

Pay for plastic bags at supermarket, few ppl pay, end up plastic bags demand spikes, whole of sg families buy plastic bags in bulk

not true......a lot of the machines I see even during peak hours, don't have q most of the time.
https://returnright.sg/p/find-my-nearest-rvm

You go check now like more than 50% of the bins are full at woodlands/sembawang..

Edit. Seem like they collected most cans in the early morning..so if you want to recycle better do it in the morning where most machine are empty..

that's rubbish as well. people buy the drinks because they want the drinks, not to generate recyclable bottles for others to benefit from. whether they recycle or throw them away depends on whether getting back 10 cents is worth the hassle. don't confuse the two bah.
In that case I dont think my rubbish is any smellier than yours.

what rubbish...the sinkies chose to discard the cans in this case, no?
They chose to discard so?
Did town council say residents should not throw cans into the rubbish chute else their staffs would be able to collect those for refunds?
BTW I have no issues with bangalas collecting those cans for their own purposes. But to blame sinkies for that is unreasonable.

mental rubbish is worse... who's blaming sinkies? your own imagination ah?

the situation is simply that sinkies decide to discard the bottles, while others choose to pick them up from the rubbish bin. so what exactly is the issue? both are doing what they want, neither is doing anything wrong, and one doesn't affect the other. what's there to argue about?

Its a nonsense argument to say the cleaners have every right to rummage dustbins for cans to make money off it. Just like any Singaporeans.

They were given a specific legal exemption to do their jobs as cleaners ie. Rummage through bins to do their work
It is NOT exemption given to them to profit personally from it

I doubt any action were ever taken against any cleaners who found valuables in bin and clean and sold it for profit .
However if it became a syndicate act like selling cables found in bins for thousands then AGC certainly would say take action against them

Yet another can of worms PAP opened and cannot deal with it

OBVIOUSLY Grace won't know how to deal with it
Maybe tell the employers to.monitor cleaners and tell them.to stop
But they won't care
Meanwhile use law to bully average Singaporeans

You know the cleaner don't have to rummage into the bin for their job right..

The just have to take the whole bag out and tight then throw.. if they spend time looking for the cans mean that they are spending work time to do personal things no?

Also more PR and friends from the other country stay here.. so more people collecting.. everyday will see people looking into rubbish bin..

the large blue bin is obviously a failed project, the bcrs is creating another issue, this might help but not sure what other issue will come next:

anyway, sinkies' ideas usually taken from other countries and adapted, Netherland and Sweden have been doing it for ages bah:

Nope but pretty sure they don't use their free time cause it make more sense to be looking through the bin while they are collecting and throwing the rubbish.. if they had thrown the rubbish then there will be no cans left to collect.. so they must definitely do it during their work time..
