offtopic but which scholar who implement this idea really need to get his or her brain checked.

This is what happen if we have too much money ( Temasek + GIC $2 trillion AUM ) throw money make useless machine like this just to collect back 5-10 cents.

no wonder me noticed some of the drinks are going on sale, just to clear stocks
some brands no longer available on the shelves

all b'cuz of the need to have that 'label' on its packaging

btw news report on ch5 earlier mentioned that most bevs will be able to be "returned" on the recycle machine by the end of this month

both on ntuc/SS

How is this practical for any reason?

You pay for the 10cents deposit up front. But sometimes you order can drinks in groups in restaurants before heading to say a concert or movie.

You cant possibly collect back the cans at that point tin time and head to a concert right?

So many people are paying for the 10 cent deposit up from but so few benefitting or claiming it back.

And when you are there to recycle, there is a security camera there which treats you like a criminal.

Its one of the dumbest schemes to be implemented here.
How does making people pay money for plastic bags so it will make them think "green" make sense either

Nothing wrong with the foreign workers recycling the drink cans that they bought. They also paid the $0.10 deposit using their hard earned money.

The project is so successful that even our foreign workers are aware of this and participating.
