If BCRS ti ti collect 10 cents everyday for every can, I’m sure some people will not be bothered to redeem it. If the manufacturers are not the one absorbing it (presuming they pay 10 cents for every can to BCRS as well), means BCRS everyday got excess to be kept as free money?

I emailed them to get my 10cents back as the pay lah option didn’t work today and i didn’t have a ez link card. No way am I going to let them Get away with It. Personally think they should offer another option to redeem it at the supermarket so it’s not so cumbersome.

Licensed by the National Environment Agency (NEA), BCRS Ltd.'s core responsibilities for the seven-year period (1 April 2026 to 31 March 2033) on behalf of all beverage producers in Singapore include collecting, sorting, recycling eligible beverage containers, and setting up return points.

So confirm now all plastics bottles will need to pay extra 10cents to refund? Cos they purposely print the label small like very difficult to notice... I bought 2 bottles thought old stock but then pay that time then know.. if now all need to go through then I avoid all together...

Like scam as if no one claim deposit then dunno the money goes to whose pocket...

Phase 1: 1 April – 30 September 2026

The scheme officially commences on 1 April 2026. This marks the start of a 6-month transition period (April – September 2026) to allow producers and retailers to clear existing stocks.

• With the BCRS Deposit Mark: A 10¢ deposit is included in the price at checkout. You can claim this 10¢ back when you return the empty container.
• Without the BCRS Deposit Mark: You do not need to pay a deposit and the container is not eligible for a refund at the RVMs. Recycle your empty containers through existing means such as blue bins or other recycling stations.

Phase 2: 1 October 2026 (Full Implementation)

• The transition period ends. From 1 October 2026, all regulated beverage products supplied in Singapore must carry the BCRS Deposit Mark and the 10¢ deposit will be applied to all regulated beverage containers.

Pro-Tip: Always check the label for the BCRS Deposit Mark before heading to a Return Right RVM to ensure a smooth refund experience!

I still see many cans/bottles discard at the rubbish bins with return 10cents logo, especially multi storey carpark.

bought a drink, realized is 10c more ex, thought it was coz I bought the cold version.

later then realised is the 10c return.

when to machine, return, only accept DBS Paylah or SimplyGo ez-link card.

whip out my ez-link and scan, TMD, not accepted, coz mine is old type ez-link, cheesepie, got scammed 10c by pap.gov.sg

How is this practical for any reason?

You pay for the 10cents deposit up front. But sometimes you order can drinks in groups in restaurants before heading to say a concert or movie.

You cant possibly collect back the cans at that point tin time and head to a concert right?

So many people are paying for the 10 cent deposit up from but so few benefitting or claiming it back.

And when you are there to recycle, there is a security camera there which treats you like a criminal.

Its one of the dumbest schemes to be implemented here.
