Last time it was more common that some elderly collect cans for recycling. Not sure why it got less common now.

I think is those recycling coy shortchange those elderies most likely...otherwise they stop buying from "retail"

For one of my 12, after returning 1 bottle I spied 1 can on like seat next to machine

This Karen was returning and I grabbed can before she can do anything
Saw its recyclable and threw it in for my ten cents

Anyway who drinks beer in the afternoon

Maybe cos they can't claim so ensure others can't claim too

Almost 4 weeks counting and still no 10 cents manual refund yet. Can't imagine how people haven't received their 10 cents yet.

You can piss off the coffeeshop owner by defacing the logo on the bottle, or squash the bottle.

Actually I guess the coffee shops and the eateries will be "preying" on customers

Cos some customers WON'T take cans with them which means shop can take it and "make" the 10 cents
Apparently the shops will have to pay the 10 cents to SOMEBODY & its the customers who's suppose to get back the 10 cents

I seen even eateries use cans & bottles for drinks UNLESS cos of Grace's nonsense , the eateries will open can and poor finish drink for customers & walk off with can. Then can "don't charge" customers the 10 cents

ya that's why it is separate charge from the drink itself, so the drink manufacturers charge the shop 10 cents, then the shops pass down another 10 cents unless we return the can/bottle.

Overall I feel is just creating problems for everyone.

Is recycling even the true intent when only selective bottles are accepted? If the gov is truly into recycling, then all types of plastic bottles should be accepted.

The way it is implemented leVes much to be questioned.

If 5.5 million bottles are collected, how many bottles are dumped away and not sent for recycling? Nea has the answer?

For the entire ndp, how many of the sai chui bottles are collected back for recycling? Is the recycling scheme even extended to such events?

Like eateries telling customers leave cans with us when actually its NO. Customers should be taking cans with them

Once in broad frigging daylight I saw 2 old fogeys SCREAMING VULGARITIES at each other sitting at nearby hawker centre tables
So loud like can hear 20 metres away
& what life and death situation was it over?

From what I gathered its over ... cardboard
They were fighting over .... cardboard

The hawkers and nearby folks tried to pacify them but hearing 70s to 80s year old people screaming is .... unique
