Dumbest system thought by the smartest txtbook modal students.

First, u suck my money by forcing me to pay deposit,

2nd who the hell will bring out a can of drink out and after we finish, have to bring it home.

3rd then we have to wash it. Waste more water

4th, bring all the cans , find a machine to redeem.

Who benefits ?
Who review this and approved ?
Who pay for all these machine ?
If sustainability is not the way of life and not taught into yr lifestyle and habit.. it will not work.

The problem.. not everything use money is a good long term solution

Can dont wash before deposit?

Anyway is the dumb system created by textbook answers relied by people who think they are smart, voted in by the same flock and wont acknowledge it as a failure.

Couldn't be bothered. All cans and bottles end up in trash bag and in garbage bin. They can go tuas incineration plant and sort them out if they want to recycle.

Many first world countries had implemented this kind of scheme, EDMWers had proven that we are still third world

Moral of the story is canned and bottled drinks now have a 10 cents convenience tax.
They sneaked in and forced extra tax down our throats. And their damn machine and redemption protocol failed.

Is there any recourse for us, the general consumers?

It's by Grace Fu. Yes the same Minister who approved the $800K rubbish bin centre. Also yes, the same one who implemented plastic bag charges. LOL 😂

Need to wash clean the bottle.
Need to take public transport.
All Need money for 10 cent ?
Not worth it.
Not to worry.

The scholar boss of the scholar who implement this will propose increasing the initial deposit amount to $0.50.

Then they can proudly proclaim it's a success when there's a queue of people in front of the machine there to redeem.

It works leh.

Because of this, I will never buy another canned/bottle drink in Singapore anymore so less waste from me. I helped Singapore improve green score

They just need to charge more for the deposit fee. Maybe like same amount as the drink itself. In dollars not cents.

It's because they want to emulate western countries without considering the context.
Countries like Australia also have this can/bottles return scheme but they have the economics and culture to sustain this.
Same with the tray return scheme. They have completely decimated the eating out experience and culture.
