We should just all boycott the machine let papers report nobody using. This will reflect well on the smart minister that came up with this bright idea 😏

Under sponsorship part
Yes, regulated beverages used for sponsorship or marketing will
need to have the deposit mark.
For example, such as a running event where consumers
receive free drinks, how does this apply?
The $0.10 deposit is payable to the scheme operator, regardless of
whether the regulated beverage is sold or given away. Companies
can write to NEA for further clarifications on how to obtain the
deposit refund, depending on the specific circumstances.

See of they ownself score own goal.

Let's see if the sai chui bottle they put in the ndp goodie bag can get the refund.

Or they will come out with some excuses for exemption.

So much work for $0.10. Likely many won't bother. Soon the $0.10 deposit by companies will grow into millions. Who owns the account?

How come no MP come to take ownership of this project? They did not think it will be successful?
The machine is already outsourced to some management company.
If the project fail, it is none of cheng hu business liao.

probably cost the govt $10 for every 10 cents they distribute to recyclers due to extreme costs and inefficiency
I dunno how are they are running the scheme.
Rem very vaguely that the bottler company is running the project.
Not sure whether cheng hu got pay them any money.

"Why? Because beverage manufacturers and importers have to pay 10 cents into the scheme for each individual unit of beverage they sell in Singapore.

The 10 cents is then transferred to the retailer and, eventually, the consumer at the point of sale.

The logo indicates that the 10 cents has been paid into the scheme. No BCRS logo = no 10 cents paid = no refund at the machines."

Interesting

So drinks manufacturers pay 10 cents into scheme
They collect back the 10 cents when consumers pay 10 cents when purchased drinks

Then who pays the consumer the 10 cents?
