Keeping things cheap for Sinkies is never their priority

Clap for 65 better lah
Think they never promise cheap, they just promise its affordable. Nevermind that its expensive but people still can afford to buy. Thus the idea of affordability there.

Think if not too ignorance or silly will realise that incumbent will put a tax on almost everything to earn from the people one. For local have no natural resources. Only resources is the people. And only way to earn from the people is by taxing. Thus, the galaxy of taxes everywhere.

i highly suspect it is a gang up act on those smaller retailer who parallel import in drinks for poorer folks..... isnt this anti competition? or someone is actually benefitting from it?
you're not wrong
BCRS is "owned" by a consortium of beverage producers, comprising Coca-Cola Singapore Beverages, F&N Foods, and Pokka

KNN 6 months was the deadline NEA gave to all business and retailers.
Since yesterday I notice Tian Ma shop in my area the beverage stock is empty.
Drinks like coke is no more so I wonder other outlets is it the same?

That is one issue and another issue is that since NEA mandate by law retailers have to sell drinks with BCRS.
No more cheap drinks, why I used to buy at Tian Ma is because 6 cans of soft drink is around $3+.
Now with BCRS these 6 cans need to add 60 cents so now more than $4k.

Come NEA I clap for you.

Like some mention SG BCRS is to curb imports from Malaysia where majority of products and goods
come from.
This scholar at NEA come see me now, I give you your appraisal for 2026.
Only a fool belonging to Dis-grace-fool's league will believe their true intent is really saving environment and recycling.

Talking about Coke, that bottle whether it is imported from msia or some other countries or purchased from sg, that bottle still comes from coke. So why they not taking in the bottle without the BCRS mark?

When consumers buy the drink, they paid for the bottle as well. Don't tell me to use other recycling bins. If need to use other recycling bins, then this BCRS serves no purpose since existing recycling bins are already doing it's job. Why need to create another system?

Sad to see the solutions is always to conveniently pass the cost on to consumers, like the plastic bags.
Free raw material for them to profit. When you buy that bottled drink, you are already paying for the cost of the bottle. This is before the 10 cents deposit.
