Hi,

My wife would like to have dishwasher for the new house.
Personally, I think the dishwasher is not practical because I can wash cleaner than dishwasher.
Also, I need to wash again after dishwashing because it cannot clean the stains from steam egg.
Lastly, it took a lot of kitchen space.

How do you think about the dishwasher?
Is it necessary for a household?

If you're asking this, it would mean you do not have sufficient practical use for it.

Hope this helps reassure your decision.

I was saying the same thing as you before.
Damn skeptical of this dishwasher thingy, but after some thorough research I realised that this thingy save much more water than if washed by hand.

Also its washed using high temperature water, like boiling water so it kills all the germs, something that can't be done by hand I guess?

Lastly, there are tons of sizes for dishwasher. If it's a small family then get the smaller capacity one, it doesn't take up much space. Only thing is you need route the input and output pipes for the water.

TLDR; you need to do more research

The house does not belong to me only.
I had to persuade my wife to give up the idea of dishwasher.

I did try the dishwasher while i was staying in AirBnB.
It cannot clean all the stains on the plates or pot. Also, it took around 1 hour to complete the cleaning cycle.

Btw, any brands that you would recommend?

I'm in the midst of looking for a new home. I definitely plan to have a dishwasher.

The pros and cons of having a dishwasher can be found easily online, so I don't have anything constructive to add to that.

Personally, I'm drawn towards the convenience of not washing dishes. Three children means constantly washing piles of plates and cutlery.

My friend just leaves everything in the dishwasher at night and wakes up to clean plates. Can't resist the allure anymore

when i bought a new display house it comes with dishwater and my wife use it for the 1st year. i never like dishwasher it take a long time to wash.
i normally wash 5 to 10 min finish already.

the pro: is u dont have to wash the dishes.

the con: it use alot of water and electricity because it uses hot water.
the con: u if u put big item like rice cooker bowl if u never put properly the
Fan will hit and cause a dent
the con: over time the drain will get choke

well after 1 year using the dishwasher and it dented the rice cooker bowl and the drain choke my wife finally stop using the dishwasher and now she use it as a store.

Dish washer is the best thing ever. If you say you can wash cleaner than dishwasher you’ve never actually used dishwasher before. Just need to rinse the dishes and put them into the dishwasher and it’s all done for you. Of course you need to rinse and can’t just put dishes with food into dishwasher.

depends on amount of items to wash? if got kids and you cook regularly, then it's easier to justify. otherwise need to wait and accumulate until u feel got enough to do a wash cycle (otherwise very waste of water and electricity right?)

as for cleanliness, occasionally will have items not 100% clean lah. quick rinse and also placing it nicely in the dishwasher helps.

Any reason why you don't use it often?

Was planning to get one because my sensitive hands are cracking from all the washing.
I don't see the long time taken as an issue. Not as if I am standing there waiting for it to complete. Can take all out when we need to use the wares the next time.
Probably save a lot more water due to my own bad practice of letting the tap run as i wash and scrub plate by plate as I hate having to turn own and off each time i wash the next item especially if you only have one small sink.

If your skin got condition ( i wish u speedy recovery! ) then probably more push factor for u to use.

Dishes need abit of pre-rinse before putting in dishwasher. else stuck grease etc even with dishwasher. But can really sparkle :s13: ( I used Finish Powerball and Rinse aid then )

I realized I can wash and clean faster than the machine.

I did try to use dishwasher before. It really cannot 100% clean. Had to wash again to remove the sticky stains.

Best thing of dishwasher is it has hot water to kill all the bacteria.

Sensitive hands is part of the reason for getting a dishwasher.
You may use detergent for sensitive skin. It will less irritate your skin.

If so troublesome than should follow my friend doing,he said due to wife sensitive hand so use all disposable like paper plate , paper cup, paper bowl , plastic fork and spoon etc.

The latest he change from using paper plate to those pack chicken rice "brown waxed paper" type. Everything finished just throw , no worry about who do the washing , no need use water and washing detergent. Ha...ha...
