huh? but the official site say my motherboard support DDR4 leh.....

https://www.asus.com/sg/Motherboards/Z170I-PRO-GAMING/

OMG building a simple CPU is so tough lol :s22:

you specified a DDR4 part for a DDR3 motherboard. WTF?
Secondly Skylake must use DDR3L.
Secondly the iGPU must use dual channel or else it will suffer 20-30% penalty. That is for DDR4-2133.

Sorry TS, borrow your thread.
Have a noob question, going to pick up a Asus B150-Pro gaming MOBO, can I use back Kingston DDR3 1600 4Gx2 which I was using on my z77 mobo? Or I need to buy new ddr3L ram? Pls enlighten, thanks.

Hiii, no idea where u get the part of me being "rich"

anyway as mentioned, im totally noob in this and here i am trying to learn from you guys.

Eh i think CM hyper T4 should fit as according to other online build guide for Core V1.

and hmm.....how much PSU should i buy instead? Thanks!

The PSU is overkill for that build, BUT if you got the spare cash it's ok because PSU good to future proof.

Where did you buy your PSU? Quite cheap man, about $20 difference from your first PSU which was a 500w.

LOL jitao quote djdestiny the front part.

You confusing alot of people leh some more remove quote.

You can run normal ddr3, but not good because the voltage too high Liao. May cause some damage in long run/shorten life span.

Anw ivy bridge can still use for a few more cycles, not worth upgrading.
