Yo guys just want to ask for some inputs :) i'm trying to replace a very old I5 system for a new budget PC solely for work usage e.g excel and stuff, no need gaming specs.

Only need CPU, Mobo (DDR4), RAM and PSU. i'm using back my old 2080 gpu, samsung SSD and probably maybe the DDR4 ram, hopefully the budget won't except $800

Can consider this set.. then add on your ssd.. the 2080 GPU can sell away since u not gaming.. or can consider a mini PC also

The set u mentioned can play older games, but I think the one below is worth $160 more.. u get faster Ryzen 7600 on newer AM5 with 32gb RAM. More future proof...

Especially with DDR4 ram prices being on par with DDR5 these days(probably due to low supply), better to go with the more expensive option

Haha trying to build a Frankenstein PC with some old parts. That consists of ide, molex and SATA power and sata data.

Any idea if the psu can support all these now ? And if I can buy some converters for my ide drives.

hi all, seeking some help and advise

had just completed my 2nd diy build after 10 years with asus rog strix z890 e gaming motherboard and intel ultra 265k but facing some problems as below

- able to boot into bios and proceeded to update to latest bios version 2006
- bios update completed and turned on xmp profile for ram and ai overclocking
- bios hanged and restarted but black screen throughout with fans spinning and then auto shut down
- managed to load into bios after some time but will hang and auto shut down again
- cpu temp recorded in bios was hitting 92 or 93 degrees where temp warning was also seen during post screen
- subsequent power on will always lead to auto shut down
- seeing q code error 50, 53 and some other error codes which i cannot remember
- q led seeing red and yellow at times during powering on and auto shut down
- had done a cmos reset with no further troubleshooting done

ram is using teamgroup xtreem 7200mhz which is not qvl listed for this motherboard

aio using deepcool lt360 applied with arctic mx6 (X pattern application) on cpu ihs and when removed the aio pump, found that the thermal paste was not evenly spread out and was lumping more to the edges of the ihs itself and aio cold plate, which means there is no thermal paste on the center of the ihs and the cold plate was extremely hot after cleaning off the thermal paste, so am suspecting that i had over screw in the aio pump to the mounting bracket causing too much pressure which led to the thermal paste being forced to the sides of the ihs and cold plate

for the interim, had purchased another set of klevv cras v ram which is in the motherboard qvl list and a new arctic liquid freezer pro aio, will use the included mx6 again and hope to have a better installation with this new set and waiting for honeywell ptm7950 to arrive as a backup measure

can anyone help advise if the symptoms observed was mainly due to the incompatible ram installed and cpu overheating and not the other components

Sounds to me like cpu overheat... likely cpu cooler not mounted or working properly

thanks for ur reply, will try to do a better installation with the arctic aio
just tighten the screws properly. Generally use case is to not use much strength while tightening, i dont really know how to describe it. Dont forcefully tighten it to the max, once you have to put in strength to tighten, means its tight enough

thanks for ur reply, hope after doing a less applied strength tightening plus changing out to a qvl listed ram will solve the problems and boot up properly without any issues

i suspect its not mounted properly before, if you encounter the same issues with 90C in bios, most likely it's because of a bad mount
