If last time no 9%GST and cheaper shipping cost, I will say that. Just go for prebuilt to save the troubles.

What's your budget for this pc? Me think 9700x can be paired with a more powerful GPU..

From china specifically, at least for CPU can treat as no warranty. U must send back to China for rma.

Any other country seems ok though like from Amazon for example.

Aside from that, I guess all other parts can be considered to be no warranty.

If you only gaming, 7700x and 9700x have very little difference. 7700 on taobao much cheaper, at $260, while 9700X is $350+.
CPU:
AMD 7700 $260 taobao

COOLER:
Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 $48 taobao (69 yuan shipping fee so order tgt with the CPU to cut it down to 19 yuan)

MOBO: Gigabyte B850 Aorus Elite Wifi7 (i like because toolless SSD installation, buy local because warranty easy to handle, CDL trading treated me very well)

GPU:
zotac rtx 5060ti 16gb twin edge $609 thetechyard ( at this point get the 5070 for $759, much more value than $600 for a 4070 level gpu)

RAMS:
Klevv Fit DDR5 6000MHZ CL 30 32GB $136 Amazon.sg

PSU:
Superflower Leadex III Gold Up 850W ATX3.1 $130 Pckaki (Tier A on PSU Cultist) 5 Yr warranty

SSD:
Lexar NM790 2TB $156 Amazon.sg

CASE:
Lian Li Lancool 216/217/207 (Easier to build in, with cable management + built-in fan controller)

Anyone can recommend me a build? Preferably can get all in 1 shop.
Mainly for gaming (hoyo games mostly), some programming, some usage of VMs.

$1500-$1800, can stretch abit maybe, but I was thinking maybe don't need too high end for my usage?
No need peripherals.

I would much rather go for 9060 xt 16GB though simply because of FSR4.

That said, if can stretch $100 more to 1.7k, the MASTER M57 with 9070 seems like a pretty good deal:

SGD $ 1,578.00

AMD RYZEN 7 7700 3.8GHz 8CORE/16THREAD
MSI B850M GAMING PLUS WIFI
THERMALRIGHT ASSASSIN X 120 R SE ARGB
CRUCIAL PRO DDR5 BLACK 6000MT/s 32GB(16GBx2) CL36
POWERCOLOR AMD RADEON REAPER RX 9070 16GB TRIPLE FAN
ADATA LEGEND 860 1TB 6000MB/s PCIe GEN4 NVMe M.2
SILVERSTONE TRITON 750RX 750W GOLD ATX3.1 PCIe5
SAMA M203 BLACK TG M-ATX CASE
4 X 120MM ARGB FANS
HIGH SPEED AX WIRELESS AND BT | WIFI 6e* + BT 5.3*
WINDOWS 11 HOME UN-ACTIVATED

Parts to consider upgrading:
PSU: MSI A850GL-850W (+$73)
RAM: TEAM T-CREATE EXPERT BLACK 6000MHz 32GB(16GBx2) CL30 (+$33)

Grand total after optional upgrades:

SGD $1,684.00

Honestly, if u don't mind top up more for OLED which can be had for less than 700 nowadays.

Otherwise, what do u value the most? HDR? Bang for buck? Maximum hertz?

For non HDR option, some like the dell AW2724DM is pretty good. Other popular options would be the gigabyte offerings like the above mentioned M27QA

Thank you both for the recommendation! I don't really have any preference in mind, as long as it's within my budget and bang for bucks. Will only be using it for some games like sims to witcher

that depends on what kind of games graphic setting u prefer.
Higher resolution tax more on gpu with highest setting result in lower fps. must see ur gpu can boost or not.
1080p is good for medium core gpu with better gaming experience.
with ur $500 budget, can get a IPS monitor with 240hz easily.

Those games w/o RT setting is easy for ur 9070XT. 1440p 27" monitor shld be ok for u. Just go shopee or lazada search n u can find which brand u prefer.

Hello everyone, looking to get a new rig. Budget around 1k with windows. Light dota2 gaming on 3440 x 1440, but that's about it.

I need it to run multiple research programs (think Nvivo, R, Minitab, SPSS), as well as the microsoft suite of applications. Sometimes will use Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop/Lightroom too.

I need to output to 4 monitors, can internal gfx handle that?

Any recommended builds?
is it better to get pre-built? don't really want mini pc, not sure what specs work as i am out of the PC game for 10 years already.

Pre-built? You mean like Dell/Alienware, Acer/Predator, HP/Omen or you mean boutique builders who use standard components like Aftershock, Mansa, Dreamcore?

I recommend boutique builders as the parts are easily interchangeable with parts you can swap out on the DIY market. For the big brands pre-build e.g. Dell/Alienware, sometimes they come with proprietary components, e.g. motherboard form factors, special add-in cards, special casing, or custom connectors on the power supply, that are not replaceable when you want to change, repair or swap out. You will be forced to pay stupid high fees to the big brands for replacement or repair and get outdated parts in return.
