Does adding new NVME drives reset Window key? Or doesnt matter nowadays?

Ordered InvaderPC, thought of transferring my current 980 NVME over as second drive.
U ordered orginal windows from invader? I bought a cheap key from online to activate my windows.

Window key tied to the motherboard is only for those OEM like Dell, HP, Lenovo right?

For InvaderPC, you get the retailer key since consumer purchases it separately?

OP was asking about hardware changes.

If you use a retail key, you can transfer to another MB. However, even if you use back the same SSD with retail Windows installed on it, still need to register again because Windows will detect the hardware change.

Do note that even if the Windows key is bought separately, that does not mean that it is retail. Can be either OEM or retail.

Yet to try out, how many times does the windows account is transferrable? I recall years back on my current (old) set-up all I did was log-on and the key from way back windows 7 got carried along to the new PC.

There is no stated limit. For Office, there is a hidden limit so I assume Windows should have one too.

I hit the limit for my Office 2007 (made full use of it, can install on 3 PCs at a time :D) and then have to kpkb to MS customer service. They gave me a new key. :)

For Windows, I have yet to hit the limit but I have 3 retail keys to play around with.
