Hi guys, am considering the value rig for some light gaming and editing program like photoshop and lightroom is there anything that need to be adjust from?

Would like to know also if the compact techware fusion steel case is able to fix in all the part and if theres a need to upgrade a better air cooler?

ryzen 5 5600 + asrock b550m/ac323tradepac
kingston fury beast 2x 8gb 3600mhz cl17 ddr469dynacore
wd blue sn570 500gb55dynacore
asus dual rx 6650 xt420infinity
cooler master mwe 550w v2 bronze69pc themes

I also saw the following bundle deal at $450 any advice on this? PS for the many qns as my last DIY PC was many many years back..😅 Thanks alot.

MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI AM4 M-ATX MOTHERBOARD (3yr wty)
AMD Ryzen 5 5600 3.5 GHz 6-Core AM4 Processor (3yr wty)
LEXAR HADES RGB LD4BU008G-R3600GDLH 16GB (2x 8GB) 3600MHz CL18 DDR4
LEXAR NM760 1TB PCIe Gen4 x4 NVME M.2 2280 Internal SSD (LNM760X001T-RNNNG) (5yr wty)
nvidia works better with photoshop/lightroom,would the nvme be a scratch drive? i would think 1 tb would better and 32gb ram......

Thanks all. Jus pulled the trigger today. Ended up with

Intel 13600kf + asus tuf gaming z790 plus wifi D5
2x16 Kingston fury black ddr5 5600
Wd black sn850x 1tb
Asus dual rtx 4070
Thermalrighr peerless assassin rgb 120
Silverstone da850
Lianli lancool 216
Windows 11

*comes with free d4 for 4070 purchase

so far rig is going very smooth and thank you for all the advise.

btw, any thing I should do to optimise the new pc and tweak? Haven’t owned a pc for quite a number of years. Any removal software like ccleaner or monitoring temp software I should get?
How much did it cost in total? Did you bargain/ buy from single or multiple shops?

its good value, but if u want greatly improved (>30%) performance in those apps and have the budget, u can consider either the ryzen 5 7600 + b650m mobo + ram combo as suggested in the high end gaming rig or a core i5 13600kf + b760m mobo + ram combo as suggested in the high performance rig.

the amd box cooler is quite low profile and the asus dual card is also fairly compact. there shouldnt be anything to worry about in the tecware fusion. if u are sticking to ryzen, then a better air cooler is not really required as the box cooler is adequate but if u do go intel as i suggested above, u will need a 3rd party cooler (fusion max height for cooler is 155mm).

LEXAR NM760 1TB PCIe Gen4 x4 NVME M.2 2280 Internal SSD (LNM760X001T-RNNNG) (5yr wty)
this is actually a pretty good combo, lower price compared to getting separately alongside a good all rounder mobo that is quite hard to find locally. where did u find this?
Hey guys. Intend to get a 13700K system.

Any idea which Mobo to go with?
if u dont have any preference, just get the cheapest z series mobo with ddr5 support u can find.

I found it on carousell (TekkieGeek SG) hes having May bundle promo. ;)

Hi Everyone,

Would like to get some inputs on which setup to go for

Which of these would you go for where psu casing and ram is kept the same and factored into total price

Will be using this for a racing sim plus work (simple document and scripting work)

Setup 1: ddr4 setup Ryzen 5700x plus basic motherboard zotac gfx 4080

Around 2600 sgd

Setup 2: ddr5 setup Intel i13500 plus basic motherboard Zotac gfx 4080

Around 3000 sgd

Setup 3: setup 2 but 4070

Around 2100 sgd

Or should i look at ryzen 7 series

Thanks in advance

I think Setup 2 will be nice on a 49+" super-ultrawide monitor with high fps and a wide peripheral view for racing, yet won't hold back basic document and scripting work.

Do we prefer Hynix/Kingston over Samsung/G Skill RAM?

Seems like the latter has tighter timings?

Any reason why Hynix is recommended?

Guys im not sure to just reuse my Sata3 SSD or get an additional Nvme.

I watch youtube the real world speed difference like around the same for the usual usage like startup and gaming?

u only need to worry about motherboard size, fusion fits matx and itx. just make sure the mobo u get is one of those sizes, usually the name will have a m or i suffix after the chipset model (eg b550m, z790i).

good catch, local parts too so thats quite a steal.
but would 32gb also helps with the performance as well?
for video editing maybe but probably not photo editing.

setup 1 will certainly have a cpu bottleneck. setup 2 is somewhat more viable though the value proposition of the 4080 is still very poor imo. personally, i would go for the high end gaming rig i suggested in op, which costs about the same as setup 3 but does have better cpu limited performance in games compared to the 13500. if u r looking at 4080 levels of gpu performance, u can consider swapping the 4070 for the 7900xtx which is very competitive but has 50% more vram and is way cheaper (pulse going for $1530 at bizgram compared to around $1800 for the cheapest 4080s). if u do so however, do remember to swap out the psu to 750w or higher, 4080 or 7900xtx will draw a lot more power than the 4070.

if ur buying from sls, u can ask the shop help u flash.

u can look at the gigabyte z690i aorus ultra plus, z790m aorus elite ax, z790 ud or msi pro z790-p wifi.

unless ur moving large volumes of data around regularly, there is not much benefit in the user experience when moving from sata ssd to nvme. most of the improvements touted when upgrading from hdd happens when moving to sata ssd, and the rest is diminishing returns moving to nvme. I personally run a sata ssd in my desktop and don't feel it's a lot slower than my laptop with nvme. for new builds going nvme is still a better choice as installation is a lot simpler, but when it comes to reusing sata ssds from an old system I would say it is not a bad choice either. u have to consider the hassle of migrating all the data from the old drive to the nvme if u choose to completely replace the old drive.

been a long time since my build from late 2016/early 2017.

looking to reuse most of my components. Only looking to upgrade my CPU, MOBO, RAM and GPU.

I only play games like CSGO and watch youtube, so i guess i dont need very high end build.

My only concerns are that I would need onboard wifi and bluetooth if possible since I am currently using them (usb sticks) and i guess i need to get the new mount if I were to reuse my Noctua NH-D15.

Below all parts bought from Amazon last time. I know many scare warranty issue but I been using this rig since 2017 no issue. haha

Current Rig:
Processor Intel i5-6600k + Noctua NH-D15 (Gonna Reuse Cooler as well)
Mainboard Asus z170-a
Graphics Card Zotac 1070 8GB mini
Memory Corsair LPX 16GB
Storage Drive Plextor 125GB, Crucial MX300 525GB, WD 1TB Blue, 1x 150GB HDD (Gonna Reuse)
Display QX2414 - 144hz + Samsung 24" Full HD LED Monitor S24F350FHE (Gonna Reuse)
Power Supply Unit EVGA G2 650W (Gonna Reuse)
Casing Fractual Design R5 windowed (Gonna Reuse)
Operating System Windows 10 (Gonna Reuse)

If you want to reuse your RAM too (assuming DDR4) go for the 5800x3D with any B550 recommend MSI Mortar, otherwise you can choose the 13600k with b660 asus tuf with ddr4 also. For DDR5 i think it's not worth it but you can go for any 13600k ddr5 mb bundle and choose your ram, 16gb should be more than enough for you.
GPU go for 4070 or wait for the 4060ti 16gb.

if the user experience is still acceptable to u, then i dont see any reason to upgrade. u can consider getting a pcie wifi card that can add wifi and bt support without the need for usb dongles.

most shops should provide building services, though if u bring parts not bought from that store, likely they will charge build fee.

looks alright, though id get a better psu if there is budget.
Sorry can share why ccleaner is not good ah. I always thought its pretty good compared to other antivirus scan etx. TIA
as long as u got windows defender and use ur brain abit u should be safe, no need 3rd party antivirus.
