woo carousell has shops claiming local warranty and selling cheaper than dynacore...

should i buy from there instead?

7800X3D+ ASUS TUF GAMING B650M-PLUS WIFI
935
yes if just buying mb and cpu the prices are better from carousell for sure. but do take note of the warranty and if the online shop close down anytime.

eh dynacore is still cheaper, from their pricelist, the combo is 929
do take note of dynocore price for just standalone mb and cpu, it mostly shows cheaper then other places but if u look closely at the price list u need to add 15$ for standalone purchases, the listed prices are for complete builds only, any ways u can whatsapp them anytime the reply is pretty fast.

I am shortlisting,

Tuf gaming b650m-plus wifi at $268 (dynacore)

Asrock b650m riptide around $240( lazada 7.7 sale)

Gigabye b650m aorus elite at $280 ( amazon set)

Asrock B650E riptide wifi around $350 ( lazada 7.7 sale and this board has pcie gen 5 for gpu and m.2. Not saying I will use for future, but just an option)
i would get the asrock b650 non e pg riptide, as it is the cheapest and still has gen 5 nvme (like the tuf gaming). pcie gen 5 for gpus still has a long way before it becomes a limiting factor. i also wouldnt consider the gigabyte board as it is an export set but still not cheap.
$600 no local warranty leh.

Share link where you buy $600 box set? I can only find $600 tray
is there really a diiference between tray and box? not like ur getting a cooler with the box.
also id check with the seller and confirm the cpu not bought from china, amd international warranty doesnt cover cpus bought from china. normally i wouldnt be concerned with cpu warranty, and usually recommend ppl buy from taobao direct (u can get tray 7800x3d with direct cainiao air shipping to ur house for $560, boxed for $580), but the exploding cpu fiasco is definitely something to keep in mind.
Not about performance increase. The b650e boards is abit future proof especially 2 or 3 years down the road when gpu makers are making pcie gen 5 cards
by the time gen 5 makes a difference, am5 would be long obsolete. even gen 3 still enough for 4090. futureproofing in pc building is a myth anyway :s13:

So i guess all those carousel sellers do this to earn some quick buck haha..

i bought at $600 for box version of 7800x3d. i think he only earn $20 to $30 from me cuz he say sales is slow. or maybe he get cheaper.

Problem is my chinese so bad. dont even know how to create an account in taobao. Last time just use ezbuy and paste the URL in and they will help purchase. Now i dont know how liao haha

Yeah, and you're willing to pay because you expect that a pcie gen 5 card is faster than the same card running at pcie 4 right, hence "future proof". It's a performance increase.

I'm saying that that performance increase not going to be worth $100, going by the last few gens of pcie.

By the time it actually makes a huge difference, the platform would be way too old already that you would have upgraded.

Hi guys, looking for some feedback/ recommendations as I want to upgrade my very old PC components and do a bit future proofing. I tend to multi-task a lot (e.g. opening lots of windows/programs and tabs on browser) + play Diablo and I have a bad habit of just keeping my PC running 24/7. Thanks in advance!

- ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-G Gaming Wifi (I want a matx board and too bad Asus doesn't make one for Z790, $500 on Amazon vs $650 locally good deal?)
- Intel i7-13700KF (since I'm gona have discreet GPU, no real need for 13700K right?)
- Single fan water cooler (i read that the 13th gen intel chip tends to run hot)
- MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ventus 3X (3 fans so cooler and quieter?)
- TEAMGROUP T-Create Expert DDR5 64GB (2x 32GB)
- SK hynix Platinum P41 2TB PCIe NVMe Gen4 M.2 (already purchased) + reuse existing SSDs
- Corsair RM1000x (already purchased)

i think u got to use at least a 240mm aio aka dual fans

i initially bought a 360mm aio cooler mean for my i7 13700kf but change mind to an amd build instead. already bought the 13700kf + mobo and now pending to sell liao. all item brand new havent even open haha

bought 7800x3d and now just waiting to see which mobo to purchase at a good pricing.

Anyone can help provide reliable taobao shops for 7800x3d?
can look here:
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/guide-on-buying-from-taobao.6665767/but as @gsinspirer has mentioned, probably no longer a good idea to follow thru with direct air for >$400 purchases as recommended in the guide ...

if ur not looking to tinker and oc, I'd suggest u get the 13700 non k. there's hardly any performance loss and getting a b760 makes more sense where there's a wider variety of matx boards; u can look at the high end productivity + gaming reco for such a combo. the combo is also significantly cheaper, the fact that ur looking at a mobo that costs just $100 less than the combo I suggested is just bonkers. $350 is the limit for sane mobo prices imo.
- Single fan water cooler (i read that the 13th gen intel chip tends to run hot)
single fan = 120mm, definitely not enough for 13th gen at full tilt. but since just gaming, maybe enough. but 120mm aios generally perform worse, are more expensive and less reliable than good air coolers, they're more for cramped itx builds where air cooling is not an option. if ur case can use air coolers (which it should, judging from matx), better to go with that.
- MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ventus 3X (3 fans so cooler and quieter?)
vs the 2x, probably. but the ventus cooler is still pretty cheap and still runs louder than more premium 3 fan designs.
- TEAMGROUP T-Create Expert DDR5 64GB (2x 32GB)
u don't need 64gb. 32gb is enough for hardcore multitasking and gaming.

Thanks for the tip, did not realise the savings by going for bundle/combo. For CPU I'll pick between 13700 and 13700k given that the price difference is not large. So if I decide with 13700 I should pair with a Gigabyte B760M and if 13700k to pair with a Gigabyte Z790M?

Yes my case can use air cooler, I see that you reco Thermalright peerless assassin 120. Is this sufficient for me?

Next left with GPU... RTX 4070 I saw a few quite similarly priced and specs, how should I go about deciding which brand to ultimately pick?
