if ur worried about power consumption, why not go for a 7800x3d? it draws about half the power and has comparable if not better performance. it also has 8 proper cores which is the same as a 14900k with e cores disabled.
i kept mentioning power draw is due to the heat (if arctic lf2 + t30 can cool it) and if board can tahan the power draw.. power consumption wise, i'm the breadwinner and no one in the house will complain how much electricity i use.. :ROFLMAO:

i definitely know i can't take the risk of getting x3d cpu at 5ghz cause i want to push 1% low and frame time for this stupid game and also, it's known that intel runs slightly better for this game.. haha.....

i am upgrading from 3700x to 7800x3d, a 600mhz upgrade.. i rather stay where i am if i'm going 7800x3d..

if are using the 3700x the most simple way is to upgrade the cpu to 5800x3d coz u said the game is not new...

my b450 can't support 5800x let alone 5800x3d, thus triggering me to do a massive upgrade instead.

now.. i'm more like.. when fighting in wars and doing pve grinds, i get spike lag (people call it stutter)... this sudden spike it's not once in a while thing. every few minute will happen once.. it's the frame time and 1% low i'm trying to push which intel out performs amd on this for BDO..

with the frame time and 1% low in mind, this fps thing actually impacts and dictate how much in game silver i can farm per hour, how much damage output i can hit my enemies, and how smooth my combo can be executed when fighting.. (we basically call it PC check aka winning opponent due to higher PC Specs)

in short, people say bdo is a p2w game, they are half correct.
黑沙就是个砸钱的游戏 => it's a game you need to smash all your money in..
:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

add on: internet connection also plays a part..
i'm in SG, the game server is in SG.. i need to VPN to SG to connect to the game server in order to maintain a <10ms latency.. and the game is running on tcp.. not udp.. this game is full out retard.. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

If you said 14900k you will be able to stretch its legs too 200w, you might as well get thread ripper since 200w means you able to load the the cores.

People like just buy 6 core 7600 hao le, 88w at all cores workload.

cannot.. TR cannot pull 6ghz worth of speed per core..

clock speeds are not comparable across different brands or even generations. sure the 7800x3d caps out at just 5ghz but it can frequently beat the 6ghz 14900k. 3700x is also 2 generations behind the 7800x3d, with a 15% boost in clocks before u even consider the massive architectural improvements from zen2 to zen4 and 3d vcache (real world games usually see 80% improvement in cpu limited scenarios). even the 5800x3d can see more than 40% gains with the smaller jump to zen3 with vcache, which i would say is the more sensible option given how cheap and easy the upgrade would be.
since ur building multiple pcs for the same game, would be interesting to build both 7800x3d and 14900k systems to see which is better, or how good a 5800x3d upgrade for u is compared to those. anyway, if ur not going for 4090, the differences between these cpus are likely smaller than most reviews will show.

sad to say.. the other 2 of my buddies insist they wanted 14900kf cause they saw many reviews and hated that shitty low 1% and the frame time issue ryzen has.. (tbh... most likely the game dislike ryzen).

another question thrown at me when i suggested them to upgrade to 5800x3d, what should they do with the 3700x? LOL.. they say they rather buy a full new setup and sell the 3700x as a full build without ssd.. higher chance to sell full build than selling just the cpu only.. 1 of them even say, if cannot sell he can use the 3700x as a video capture workstation..

back to your topic, yes, i saw 7800x3d performing very close to 13900k.. but 7800x3d still losing out on low 1%.. but you see, i won't know what is their setting, did they OC? what's their RAM response time? did they set cpu affinity? what cooling solution they use? what's their game latency?

i can only tell my side of the story, 3700x vs 14900kf, post all my PC and game settings as detailed as possible.. and comparing my test to other tubers at the same location in game..

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

i basically fail to convince my buddies to go 5800x3d although i've been pretty much shaken by deepblue on getting 5800x3d.. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Anyone here using the Thermalright Frozen Notte 360? For a 3 fan AIO cooler, its dirt cheap as compared to the other vendors. Their peerless assassin is already one of the best aircoolers on the market. Wondering if their AIOs are at least reliable as the peerless.

Hi all , looking to buy a pc.

If you must pick between the two, would you get (1) 7800x3d with 4070 or (2) 7700 with 4070ti?

The price difference is $86 (option 2 more expensive) and all the parts are identical.

If it helps the (3) 7700 with 4070 will cost $260 less than option (1).

Plan to do 1440p gaming and maybe 4k60.

Thank you.

Hey everyone, noob here 😅.

Was looking to get a first time PC, always only had laptops so far. I've had a Switch for a couple of years but been meaning to try games like Hogwarts Legacy/Elden Ring/Sekiro so I thought to give in and get a PC.
I'd be hooking it up to my 4k TV because I don't need a high powered setup for work just yet, so I'm trying for 1440p gaming. TBH though I've never even played games more fancy than Zelda BotW so even at 1080p ultra settings I bet I'd be happy.

I picked the mid-range gaming PC from the guide and wanted the tecware fusion for the small form factor. All the pieces seem to fit when I checked.

However I did look at some of the pre-built sites and this one from Dreamcore really stuck out. Dreamcore dream build rx7800xt-amd

AMD Ryzen 5 5600 6-core
ASUS PRIME B550M-A WIFI II
Assassin X 120 Refined SE RGB V2
16GB Corsair RGB DDR4-3600MHz
Sapphire Pulse RX 7800 XT Gaming 16GB
XPG S70 Blade 1TB Gen4 7400MB/s
On-Board Wi-Fi & Bluetooth
Corsair CV750 80+ Bronze

Current price for this is $1.5k down from a supposed $1.99k.
$1.5k is exactly the budget I had so I was wondering if this might be the best value for money I can get... any and all help greatly appreciated.

I will let the others comment on the other parts but my personal beef with it is the end-of-the-road AM4 platform that the Ryzen 5 5600 runs on. The new AM5 platform runs the 7xxx class of processors and is expected to run the next 2 gens as well. So there is a roadmap in future for you to just drop a cpu upgrade in without a need to buy a whole new system.

For me to pick, my point of view and according to the game i play, i will go for 7800x3d..
that's between the 2 setup you mentioned.
going 4k60 wise, i suggest that you go for a higher spec GPU for better experience.
but... but but but... it's not like 4070 cannot game on 4k60.. just for better experience, go slightly higher spec gpu...

As mentioned before, 7600 with 4070ti/7900xt for 4k.

Dont need x3d since you are on 4k as you will be gpu bound.

well for me i feel its abit wasted for the platform yes i know am4 is at end of life but i am saying coz u are using 3700x and for gaming not many can beat the x3d, but if u feel that selling the system and getting on the new 7800x3d is also good choice. i was on 3570 before i upgraded to the 5600 due that i dont intent to spend that much on a new system and i do not intent to game on 144 or 4k.
so if u have the $ and are willing to spend u can aim for the top of the hill
