very broad question. you need to figure out what kind of aesthetic u want. got different categories. got small-form factor, got mid-form factor, got huge towers. personally i like small footprint so i settled on meshlicious (considered sff) but internals are packed tight like sardines. thinking of changing to a matx case like tecware fusion 2 which costs <$100.

I'll always recommend the mid tower montech air 903 max, costs around 90-100$ and has 4x case fans included with good cable management. No additional fans needed unless you want to add some.

Hey guys, looking into building a rig and wondering if these will work or am I better off getting a prebuilt. Most intensive usage is probably going to be maya and after effects. Prices are chapalang from various sites including amazon so might be different already.

Gonna be doing both since is my home pc, I don't play much AAA though. Is X3D worse for work stuff? My friend who also does 3D has another AMD CPU (5 something) and it supposedly works well for him so I wanted to try out.

like deepblue mentioned, if ur not gaming, its not worth spending the premium on an x3d cpu, especially since the 78x3d is selling over its msrp. the x3d chips have reduced clockspeeds to reduce thermal loads on the 3d vcache, adversely impacting performance in both maya and after effects which are clock dependent. intel traditionally does better than amd in those apps, and 13th/14th gen might be worth considering since the stability fixes have been rolled out, though amd can still be quite competitive.
other things i would change include the gpu and psu. the gpu u can afford to go for the 8gb variant since u are not gaming and wont likely run out of it, $700 is chopping carrot head for what ur getting. the overall system is also not very power hungry (1000w psu would be a very wasted purchase), and u can opt for the seasonic core gm550 for $80 from performance pc with 7y local warranty.

FOr PSU i looking to purchase locally. Looking at MSI mag a750gl or corsair rm750e or adata core reactor 750w. those are okay right?

yes. i would pick the core reactor, rm750e and a750gl in that order, though the core reactor may be difficult to find at a good price.

looking into i7 12700 too, is KF ok or do I want the igpu?

might be worth getting for quicksync for avc and hevc workloads.

Bro how u get the cpu so cheap, i search in amazon and the cheapest i found is $445 and RYZEN 5 7600 is $285.

neither of these are worth it. getting a 7500f or 7600 used will be much cheaper with no real drawbacks.

That one depend on your fan choice and fan curve. The noise come with fan control. Some fans are quiet some are like helicopter even when on the same watt.

a lot of consideration for good airflow. Do you game in air con room? If yes a sff case will work even. Do you want to use sfx psu ?
Do you want to use smaller motherboard like itx? Do you want to use a long and wide gpu like a 4090 inside ? Or you are happy not running the most powerful gpu inside? Air cooling for cpu may have height limitation and aio can be limited as well. All depends on the configuration

the sweet spot is probably still matx motherboard and atx psu in current market for choices and costs in some three fans front intake matx casing , one rear out to create positive airflow. Of course now also have bottom intake side intake and top out options casing now

after watching youtube on this.. this is really pretty good use usb c too
crazy 4 fans and alot of holes for cable management and also can manage the psu...

So initially I pre-ordered the beelink ser8, however some bros suggested I could get something better around the $900 range and chose this with the 10.10 discounts. Apparently the PSU being installed is totally trash. And it seems I am unable to cancel it anymore. So are there any good PSU for me to replace this one?

Considerations:
1) Was asked by my ISP to consider upgrading to 10Gbps plan at the same price
2) To link 3-4 monitors for work purposes
3) Rig must be quite fast and smooth
4) Medium gaming
5) Torrenting

feature set lor, can go google. if ur already using home on ur current rig and its enough for u, then probably no point going pro.

this costs 2.3k before windows key. getting only a 9700x + 4060 is quite poor value for money given u can build a 7600 + 4070tiS for roughly the same amount, which should be quite similar in general use but much much faster (+110%) for gaming. the latest gen of amd cpu (ryzen 9000) + mobo (x870/e) offer very incremental upgrades over the previous gen. for cpu, just get 7000 series, it will get u 95% of the performance at a significantly lower price point. for mobo, x870e only makes sense if u have a need for usb4, multiple high speed nvmes and expansion cards, otherwise b650 is enough for most users. paying $1300 (which is enough to buy very high end gpus) on a cpu + mb combo is asking to chop carrot head, u will get a very similar experience with a much cheaper combo, for eg a 7700 + tuf b650m-e @ $510. even if u need a 10g nic, just get it as an expansion card, it will definitely not cost the $800 (!) difference. i also probably wont settle on a 500gb nvme, especially if u torrent many things at once; the top up for double the storage to 1tb is $40, can be halved if willing to consider the crucial t500 or wd black sn850x.
