don't get me wrong.. not promoting any particular brand.. need to get a new rig to replace my old 2020 one.. so i was carting parts in amazon waiting for blackfriday sales.. then all these retailer ads starts popping out and i went in to take compare the prices.. not sure if theres any hidden secrets with these "discounted" ready made rigs..
they bulk buy so they will be able to offer better discount. you can also try invader instead.

you need new PSU if getting the 5070 if you dun have the new cables

the 5070 cheapest model was cheaper than 9070 during 11/11 sales. So i likely get that if i am looking for a new gpu and my psu support ATX 3.0 / 3.1 standards
ok, will check my psu for that

is there a link for the 5070 u found? and is there a reason why (other than for the price) that you will consider the 5070 instead of the 9070?

The cheapest 9070 i managed to find is from techyard for 795, while 5070 is from carousell for 773

how much of a premium should you pay to get more VRM for ur mobo to have lower temp for cpu and what's the minimum required for a amd cpu such as 9800x3d or 9950x3d?

2*6 VRM? or should u pay $100 bucks for 2*8?
vrm isnt as simple as just topology, the components used matter as much as the design. a 6 phase vrm using discrete mosfets will almost certainly run hotter than a 6 phase using power stages. as long as u avoid the trash tier models, the power delivery on most modern motherboards is usually adequate, and such midrange models generally dont cost that much more, plus u get better features on top.
Considering getting 5070 or 9070.

Any advice/deals?
see if 12/12 or xmas sales got good vouchers ba. which way u go depends on whether u plan to play raytracing titles, the 5070 offers more raytracing performance now. the 5070 also consumes less power, but not significantly so. both cards cost around the same these days but the amd card offers more raster performance and vram, which may help the 9070 in the long run.
Hey guys, I checked recent prices for PC parts in Amazon/shopee and compared against retailers like aftershock ready made rig. I noticed that aftershock is about 20% cheaper. Diy is not really worth nowadays
performance per dollar is definitely better going prebuilt, but whether that is "worth it" depends on ones definition of worth it. prebuilts definitely dont offer the variety of parts vs ownself diy, and thus may not be a good choice if ur dead set on a certain selection of parts (especially true for itx builds). the experience of building can be worth it for some people as well.
not sure if theres any hidden secrets with these "discounted" ready made rigs..
most times the parts are barely adequate for the job, eg budget mobos, ssds and power supplies. this may mean lower reliability over time. to obfuscate the fact that lower quality parts have been used, some companies rebrand the parts used or straight up dont even disclose the specific parts. warranty periods on offer may also be shorter than what they should be.

No link. I personally monitor the prices during major sales events by clicking on the apps . shoppee was very good during 11/11 sales . 5070 was $673, the cheapest 9070 was $774

yeah but still not US MSRP. even the cheapest 9070xt model , we are paying $60 plus more in Singapore even at $850. But to get it fast if one need a gpu, the price increase is inevitable no thanks to OPEN AI for spoiling market.

Meanwhile , nvidia card is either at or below MSRP (except for 5090) in US, and in SG for most models during 11/11 sales except 5090 unless one is willing to buy an Armageddon system for inno 5090 with a 7800x3d for $3666 then. But will need them to swap PSU to a known tier A for additional $70 and also better change the MB they provide at the same time, then i think the system will be more reliable.

Not exactly true. Prices in US are exclusive of tax and the amount is dependent on state. Using the median amount of +10% tax, it's actually more or less around our cheapest price.

even though it is a couple of years old, it is still very capable, being only 1-2 degrees behind the ps120 non evo. the evo runs loud compared to the non evo and is purely an aesthetic upgrade, sometimes even running worse than the pa120. current tr flagship air cooler is their royal pretor 130 iirc.
for amd 9950x3d, if want air cooler, able to give top 5 ranking?
feel like other than Noctua NH-D15 G2 LBC, the rest all cmi

Does adding new NVME drives reset Window key? Or doesnt matter nowadays?

Ordered InvaderPC, thought of transferring my current 980 NVME over as second drive.

No, doesn't matter. The Windows key is mainly tied to the motherboard.
Window key tied to the motherboard is only for those OEM like Dell, HP, Lenovo right?

For InvaderPC, you get the retailer key since consumer purchases it separately?
