surprisingly for your budget, you chose 7900xt instead of 7900xtx or a 4090

When selling desktop PC, is it safe to simply unplug HDD, SSD from the system, before sale? Or need to wipe something else from mobo and ram? E.g. reset Windows?
depends on how u want to sell it. if u want to keep the drives of course must unplug and remove from the system before sale. if u are selling the drives along with the system i dont see why u should unplug them, the buyer wont be able to see the drives when the pc powers on, and would likely complain that they paid for something they didnt get. as for wiping, i dont think buyers would want to see ur personal data, so best to clean install windows before selling.
This mobo is mostly out of stock everywhere. Any other viable alternative for pairing with 5600g, is it worth to prepare for PCI 4.0?

ryzen 5 5600g + asus tuf gaming a520m plus wifi
thanks for the heads up. then the asrock b550m pro4 is also a decent choice, though u lose onboard wifi + bt.

The 4090 is kind of too pricey. Didnt want to spend anymore as a i funneled the difference to moving from a 27inch to a 32inch monitor and a 850watt to a 1k watt psu.

The 4080 "may" not fit into a micro atx case due to the number of slots it takes.

The XTX was sold out everywhere, maybe i didnt look hard enough. So settled for 7900XT. Newegg had some promo so price was gd.

Ok.. because my thoughts is that if u are gaming only, 7600x or 7700x might be a better choice.. if u doing work plus gaming, I tot intel will be a better choice. The savings in cpu can get a better graphic card. Just my opinion though, I am looking to get a new rig but waiting for the x3d cpu to be announce hopefully in ces 2023.

My current rig still can use though and also bought around same year as u in 2017 lol.

the pro4 has a dedicated e key slot for m.2 wifi card, so u can purchase any wifi card (which should come with bt) separately and slot it in. if u dont want the hassle, u can also get the asrock b550m/ac combo from tradepac, the recommendations list has also been updated to include it.

The Pro4 looks good, anyway the Bluetooth on the AC only Version 4.2.

Is there a recommended Wifi + Bluetooth 5.2 M.2 card for the Pro4?

u literally only have 2 options, ax200 or 210. just dont get the cnvio ones (201, 203, 211, 411), they wont work on non intel systems.

Thanks for the tip will look up those.

Just for my knowledge, amongst all the boards for a particular chipset e.g. B550M, usually how do folks choose between ASRock, Gigabyte, Asus, MSI? i.e. is it just the nitty gritty like port availability, or there is a particular company that is considered premium/more expensive, and some that are more budget?

VRM and bios, the only good indicator is from reputable reviewers, never trust and put blind faith into a particular brand or company, different model or era has their own bad eggs.

Buildzoid, deb8uer, gamer nexus and hardware unbox to some extend, are some of my go to reviewers when I need more technical information.

Is Amazon a good place to get such parts? Warranty void and non-local?
Still available with prices below in USD, after conversion and shipping around $471 SGD.

ASRock B550N Pro4 - $139.50
TEAMGROUP T-Force DDR4 2x8Gb 3200Mhz - $45.00
Ryzen 5 5600G - $141.00

Fantastic thread and guide. Thanks TS!

A bit sad as I was also looking to get the parts (esp that kickass Asus tuf gaming a520m plus wifi) recommended by TS. The shop I visited told me all the mATX boards are OOS.
Not sure how much they will bump up the price next year when 8% GST kicks in.

Between the Asrock b550m Pro4 and AC versions, the Pro4 also seems out of stock everywhere, can remove from the list.
Maybe all will appear out of the sudden next year with bump up prices as 8% GST kicks in. LOL!
