z790 is better if only u are planning for pcie5.0, overclocking and need more ports and slots if not there is no other reason to choose the z790 over the b760
and if you are rich... jkjkj dont shoot me

For M2 2tb, im down with this few choices - wd sn570, Samsung 980 n lexar nm710. Price difference is $8-10. So which one is good? The lancool 216 case selling for $125 at pcthemes fyi

is the GPU really more important than the CPU for flight sim / p3d? Feel like buying a higher end CPU and just go cheap on the GPU with 4070

Currently debating Ryzen 5600 + RTX 4070 build for ~1600 vs a Ryzen 7600 + RTX 4070ti build for ~2300. Notable difference in price due to needing different mobo, ram and psu. I'm trying to aim for 1440p 144hz on most games. I'm not sure if the performance difference is worth the price difference, but at the same time I'm afraid the 4070 will not be powerful enough. Can anyone give me some advice?

As a non-competitive player, I'd go for 5600+4070Ti.
If competitive, 7600+4070 ... if cost is an issue.

Hi guys,
Can help to recommend me a work desktop?
Budget below $1k. No need monitor. Mostly using to watch youtube videos, open lots of chrome tabs and word documents and such.

Probably minimum Intel i5 and as small a case as possible but don't want itx cos more ex. Thanks!
for general office work, the entry level 1080p pc @ $500 is enough, and swap the case for the tecware fusion to make it compact. u can also consider changing the ram to 32gb too. a comparable intel cpu + mobo alone would cost as much as this entire amd rig, so value wise it is not there.
Thank you for prompt reply and advice
Which DDR5 should i chose ?
right now bizgram has a good price for 32gb of gskill ripjaws s5 5600c40 ddr5, as suggested in the high performance rig.
BTW, is it okie to not get zotac and have other generic brand if the shop doesnt have them.
yeah, just make sure u get the 12gb version and not the 8gb.
Hi @NightRaven49 ,

when you mention suggestion for 4k msfs above with about the same performance for quite a bit less are you referring to the specs below?

core i7-13700f + gigabyte b760m aorus elite ax d5791dynacore
arctic liquid freezer ii 360mm162techdeals
gskill ripjaws s5 2x 16gb 5600c40 ddr5145bizgram
wd black sn850x 1tb145pc themes
sapphire rx 7900 xtx pulse *313mm x 133.75mm x 52.67mm1530bizgram
asus rog strix 750w149dynacore
nope, i was referring to this:
ryzen 5 7600 + asus tuf gaming b650m-plus wifi584dynacore
thermalright peerless assassin 120 *157mm height69bizgram
gskill flare x5 2x 16gb 6000c32 ddr5 expo *highly recommended to tune timings195dynacore
wd black sn850x 1tb145pc themes
zotac rtx 4070 twin edge zotac rtx 4080 trinity oc *356.1mm x 150.1mm x 71.4mm1791dynacore/techdeals
asus rog strix 750w149dynacore
with a $150 case it should total $3083.
had the impression that the Z790 is a better chipset, i think i am probably wrong on this
its only worth it if u have a k/kf sku for cpu oc support, the premium is wasted on locked cpus like the 13700f.
which shop can go and have them help me assemble my parts? How much will it cost?

most pc parts shops in sls should have building services, though tiagong if u go to one store with parts from other places they will charge build fee ($30?). not too sure about installing windows.
For M2 2tb, im down with this few choices - wd sn570, Samsung 980 n lexar nm710. Price difference is $8-10. So which one is good?
lexar nm710 sounds good for the performance.
is the GPU really more important than the CPU for flight sim / p3d? Feel like buying a higher end CPU and just go cheap on the GPU with 4070
both are equally important but considering that the gpu is the main component rendering each frame it is more likely that u would see a bigger impact on performance with a stronger gpu. 4070 is also barely enough for 1440p60 native on msfs, but if that is the resolution and refresh rate u are targeting then by all means.

4070ti is about 20% faster while having the same amount of vram. by ur estimate, u are paying almost 50% more for the 4070ti for just 20% more performance. personally, i would go for the 5600 + 4070 build and turn down some settings to ensure 1440p144, that price delta isnt worth it to me.

@NightRaven49 How do u decide on a MB or GPU alernative when they are always out of stocks ? hmmm
if the one i have in mind is oos, then i would generally just go for the next cheapest option. for gpu doesnt matter too much, but for mb i would also check the vrm capability.

doesnt sound like good value to me. u can get the high end gaming rig as i suggested and get way more gpu horsepower and vram for ai/ml, while still having a very responsive and high quality system in general for about the same price.

I found one that seems close to the high end rig you posted, have 2 general questions,
> Is the performance of AMD 7 7700 vs AMD 5 7600 vs intel i5-13600kf big or worth the difference in price?
> So would you recommend one out of these 3 or do they all have lacklustre value

How about this two? For flight sim of course.
I'm still leaning on the first one, not sure if I should save myself $250 and take the last one.

in gaming, not very big when using optimal ddr5 configurations. id just get the cheapest out of the 3. however, if u do plan to do core heavy workloads, then the 13600kf will be the obvious choice.

the aftershock rapid with the 3060ti is way overpriced. the invader pcs are better at a lower price, and i would go for the 7600 system for pure gaming, especially considering the 13600kf system is ddr4 and yet is still more expensive.

i saw a previous version of ur post with a 3rd build with a ryzen 5 7600, i think that one was the best deal out of the 3. the 13700kf could be held back by ddr4 and when ur paying this much for a pc, no point saving that money if its going to cut performance.

Really this is the best one? Isn't the less cores and the Ryzen 5 weaker than thr i7? I'm biased towards having a better CPU as my past experience with flight sim was that it was really CPU intensive. Kinda out of touch with how things are nowadays though.

7800x3d is good for flight sim. 4 years local warranty :o

ram and ssd buyed from amazon cheaper.

This supposed good for tweakers :o

Corsair got global warranty though they use phison controllers, maybe less reliable long term than crucial own controllers.
