telco recycled and gave me a gambler's number. so almost every week get gambling related sms ads and ah long sms ads address to dat gambler. never send future winning lottery numbers. *&^%$#@!

They must have a unsubscribe option in the message. once you unsubscribed, they can not message you again. if they do, complain to CEA. After you register with DNC, you need to give them at least 30days to take effect.

not true. let say, you are using singtel service. singtel still can call or message even you are registered with DNC. But if you ask them to take your name out of the list, they have to remove your name from their list and should not call you again unless you give them consent to call you again.

They must have a unsubscribe option in the message. once you unsubscribed, they can not message you again. if they do, complain to CEA. After you register with DNC, you need to give them at least 30days to take effect.

If I did not even subscribe to the adv, why should we need to unsubscribe from it....they should not have send it in the first place!....it is a bloody loop hole they are using yet the registry is closing both eyes....

DNC only come into effect on 2 Jan 2014. after that if they still sms you, complain lor! The 30 days still apply.
FIY: The penalty for breaches of DNC rules is a $10K fine.

Ok...DNC registry still have not tell us how do we make a complain (have checked their website)... I guess the only way to get it work is to complain.....if advertiser send 1000 SMS / day 800 people complain per day....it will be more work for the registry and advertiser....cost will go up for them....
