Try disable the wireless adaptor in hardware manager see if it stops the hanging.

I been using this windows 10 for almost 2years. And now I reinstall the driver for the wireless adapter it doesn’t help. And it keeps hanging whenever I on my laptop. Just yesterday after I reformat I on it hangs and when I do a hard power on it doesn’t off it. It drains my battery all e way down.

Can spend so much time ranting about it here but cannot spend $35 to buy the same WiFi card from Aliexpress, open the laptop's rear and replace the card?

I totally understand how you feel. Bought a FX504 and it overheat like crazy, unlike what they have mention.

My Asus Zenbook died on me recently. Asus quoted a very high price to replace motherboard. I paid $120 to get it fixed at SLS. Not sure how long it will last. The repair guy said that series no fan, so overheated. Zzz.

Never like ASUS design and they after sales services. Firmware and driver support also poor.

It's harder than you think for Asus. Zero service documentation, shitty screws that strip damn easy, annoying plastic that never clips back in the same way despite not being broken so there's ugly gaps.

Objectively, this is not the first time I heard someone say not to buy a specific brand because it fails right after or fails too often, etc. Just because it failed once for you and it is a fail for you can be a harsh conclusion. At this rate, there will be no laptop brands to buy isn't it?

As far as I agree that iPads seems to last very long, but I feel they are not good comparisons. Tablets run on very low power components, and laptops run on higher power components. These causes higher heat output and reduced durability.

"XYZ model name service manual" really yields no results?

Nope. If you're lucky you'll find a YouTube tutorial by some Russian repair shop, but I haven't seen an official laptop service manual from Asus so far.

Have a few Asus products that failed quite fast too. Only their modem last for 2 years for me.

Every brand and model will have faults the question is how prevalent. Does a swallow make a summer?

Look at the keyboard problems in MacBook 2016 and 2017 versions. Design changes made in keyboard for this 2018 model only.

My girl has been using a refurbished Asus uktrabook for several years. No issue at all.

The threadstarter should try the below two step

1 . borrow a USB wireless adapter and try connecting to the AP ( some time the AP require a reboot)

2. Aiya nowadays it's so convenient , your ASUS laptop wireless adapter spoil , just go taobao and buy the spare part ( recommend to replace both the processor cooler fan and the wireless adapter card togather).

So big a problem?
