Double clicking issue in mouse, particularly Logitech

I believe this is a common issue when the mouse registers double click even though you only click once. Previously this happens after 2-3 years of daily usage but recently problem crops up after only 6 months! Cheap/expensive mouse also the same.

Does this happen in other non-Logitech mice? Suggestions to resolve this? Watched some videos but they dont seem to work. The only one that seems to work is the static issue but after a few days, problem comes back.

Just the switch issue. Can replace if you know how to diy. Logitech (most model) has w years warranty. Just send it back for replacement.

TS, not sure why u seem reluctant to rma coz your post mention within "6 month" definitely fall within the warranty period.

u bought the mouse overseas? 2ndhand? or actually out of warranty already?

Yea I am sending it back. Just a real pain to go to their office which is out of the way for me.

can't you just adjust the double clicking speed in your Windows mouse setting?

I am using MX Master and no such issue so far.

sticky mechanical switch problem bah.... I am also going to replace my logitech switch

got them from ebay

I did and it gave my mouse a new lease of life.

Using Logitech M525 and G203 currently, Previously used G402 no issues with double clicking. Maybe TS just really suay, or need to take better care of mouse.

Maybe try different brand mice see if better lor

Acutally i have the opposite problem with my mouse, double click wont register or sometimes even single clicks doesnt. But i after i close the steelseries (using rival100) software, it work perfectly. My impression is sometimes its a software issue.

Not all, but almost all brands(razer, steelseries, logitech, madcatz, corsair etc etc. some ms slim mice uses button switches instead) populate their mice with the same omron switches. If not, they go for some unknown, unbranded switches like i saw in some madcatz rat5 mice

Just simply google a specific mouse model teardown and you have your answer

Based on my experience with (cheap) logitech mice, it appears that the bigger problem is not with the switches failing, but with the (soft) plastic of the button actuator that gets compressed, which results in clicks failing to register.

No need to resolder the switch
Just need nimble hands to open the current switch and replace the copper piece inside

i did this before... is pretty hard to fix

I fix until... no click sound and is pretty hard to assemble

in the end... bought those omrom switches from ebay.... I just managed to solder it... and tada... using my perfomance mx now

I also replace my right button just in case it fails soon.



I do have 3 extra omron switches... can help solder... but I am slow and need a macdonald meal for 2

best solution, just buy logitech rescue pack from ebay and change it.

are you good at soldering? if yes, just buy two of OMRON clicks from ebay and replace it. If you have the MX mouse, there are youtube videos that you can follow.

very common situation, occurred to my MX anywhere too. did a search and found MANY complains on logitech forums, tomshardware etc.

My solution? switch left/right mouse buttons..... takes some time to get used to, but otherwise works perfectly

I've stopped buying Logitech mice for a long time. The quality is good in the past, and in fact, I am currently still using the G1 that is more than a decade old. Despite playing games like Diablo that requires crazy amount of clicks, I am very surprised it lasted this long. Subsequent mice I got from Logitech never lasts from my experience. Some died in less than 6 months, including wireless ones that starts to have connectivity issues.
