Hello,

I don't do much posts but I have a question. Basically I bought some Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400MHz RAMs, CL11 at 11-13-13-31, 4x8GB, cos they were cheaper.

But I've just found out that it's actually running at 1.65v.

I'd prefer to run it at 1.5v to hopefully have it to be cooler and can use longer or something...... so I was considering to downclock it when all my parts arrive and I put the comp together.

Was wondering if anyone could advise me on the clocks? Like if I put it to 1333/1600MHz, do you think I could run the thing at like 9-9-9-24? (or is it 9-9-9-27, how do I even calculate this?)

And also, will there be any sort of risks to downclock a factory overclocked RAM?

Do I down the voltage first or the clocks first or both together?

What I'm afraid of is that I'll lose performance after I downclock it or lessen the life of the RAM or something.....

Or should I just leave it at default and just use XMP and don't care about the heat..?

Practically speaking, there isn't much performance difference if you down-clock. Your RAM should have several XMP profiles. Just pick one using 1.5 V.

In any case, I wouldn't worry too much about 1.65 V. Your RAM will probably be obsolete before it breaks down from the higher voltage.

i am running the same RAM and have no issues with heat whatsoever at the XMP settings. However, if you are worried about heat just dont turn on XMP and it will Run at stock 1333/1600mhz 9-9-9-24 at 1.5v. The Ram will not run at 2400mhz 1.65v XMP profile out of the box.
