Has the durian season started for 2012?

yes. it just started and “Nan Tian Fruits and Vegetables” and “Wu Ming Fruit Stall” have been selling their durians for as low as $0.50 a durian. Prices can get as low as $0.20 a piece but only to clear out stock in the evening.

Hi guys. Read through the thread. Seems like Balestier area got a few reccommended places like Combat and Sindy. Just a few qns, there only got the more premium durians like MSW? Cost of MSW around 15 per kg? Got cheaper durians there?

Finally, anyone got place to rec in the East (Excluding Geylang)?

There got cheaper msw, got stuff like red prawn.Just ask lo. Or buy those in boxes. BTW I think Sindy only sell one type of durians.

A group of us tried and we were not impressed with the so call famous durian puff which was served frozen. And the price doesn't look attractive at all.

MSW is $12/kg (this season MSW is so dry, not fantastic geeez)
Jin Feng is $10/kg (I enjoyed the small seeds)
D13 this season is very good! (i am loving it)

I will jiak more durians this weekend when granny comes to my place.

Usually i dont like Styrofoam pack it, i like to bring home to open myself. heheh

Me too, I just hate to contain durians in Styrofoam pack. I will just bring back the whole durian or nothing at all. BTW, I did see some durian seller packing those 'opened mouth' durians into styrofoam box. Some even packed those spolit one together (throw away the bad portion & mix the fine one with others)
