Tremors Is different from direct earthquake... E.g: recent earthquake in Myanmar. Tremor until Bangkok got buildings collapse...
Well it’s matter of perspective. Collapsed due to earthquake =/= collapsed due to tremor

Nothing weird, earthquakes happen all the time, not just on fault lines. Don't know why people say as long as not on fault line is safe. The Zhangfei temple, survived 2000 years only to collapse completely recently due to earthquake out of no where.

We didn't have much brick buildings and skyscrapers in south east asia only until recent 150-200 years which is basically nothing in terms of records for earthquake. Many earthquakes happen only once every 500-1000 years. People before that lived in 1 story attap house which is not that deadly even if collapse. There's no much records on earthquakes also.

hotel new world like few floors only collapse already rescue so long. now bto alot 40 floors.

The Segamat police have received three reports on property damage due to the earthquake that hit the town on Sunday (Aug 24) morning.

However, Segamat OCPD Supt Ahmad Zamry Marinsah said there was no report involving injuries or casualties received.

"Monitoring will be continued to ensure Segamat is safe, especially concerning security and public order," he said in a statement on Sunday.

He advised the public to report any emergency incident to the nearest police station or the Segamat district police headquarters at 07-932c422.

Two tremors were detected on Sunday, the first a 4.1-magnitude quake in Segamat at 6.13am, and the second a 2.8-magnitude quake at 9am in the Yong Peng area near Batu Pahat, about 28km northwest of Kluang, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department.

In 1883 Indonesia faraway krakatoa super volcano eruption exploded . Recorded by then colonial. Netherlands and British .
Then Singapore and Perth also can feel the tremors and the volcano ashes .
Heard the whole volcano disappeared but after that resurface again in the 1900s .
Many casualties. It causes tsunami too.
