Well just to share, this cream i find really work (after 5 months usage). Mustela Stelatopia Moisturizing Cream. I do face a problem that after using one brand product for a period (say, 2-3 months), my face eczema will start to reject it and i'll have to change product. So far, i don't have such issue on this Mustela cream.

Next to try to GlaxalBase moist cream. Will keep you guys inform.

So far, Eucerin, Cetaphil, Moogoo, Vaniply etc, doesn't work for me.

Latest updates from my efforts to cure my eczema.

1) hand soak herbal vinegar (from Gingko TCM) mix with sea salt meant for aquarium use.
Results are fantastic! Skin integrity almost back to normal. One thing to note is must use sea salt with trace elements aka evaporated sea water.

2) Using Fungicide recommended by friend.
Excellent. If I use it on the pustules that started forming on my skin, it will dry up by next day and the surrounding skin will remain intact. I forgot the name of the brand, he bought via a relative from China. I researched the contents abit and found that the compound is often used to kill fungus infections, pretty sure it is not a steroid.

Using the above methods, my fingers and palms have retained normal skin integrity for 2 months now.

Update on 2). The name of the medicine is ketoconazole. It is available in local pharmacies. The china brand I am using dosage is 10 mg per 1 gram, the one the pharmacist showed me is 20 mg per 1 gram (legal max limit).

Ketoconazole is NOT A STEROID. Confirmed by the pharmacist.

I have recommended this to 2 colleagues I know of suffering from eczema. One of them has positive results from using this medication. The other has yet to try.

Should you decide to give this a try. Do not let the pharmacist persuade you to try other medication. They are blinded by their medical knowledge and will try to recommend something else, possibly another steroid. Insist on ketoconazole. Do not use this on large areas of your body, for me I use this on the worst areas on my hands and changed area as it recovered. And even then, I used as little of the cream as possible on each application.
Do not use continuously for more than 4 weeks.

Why does this fungicide works on eczema? I have no idea. I suspect it has something to do with yeast invading the skin structure (yeast is part of human flora fauna). I have not been able to find a scientific research on this.

Let me know if there are any success with using Ketoconazole. :s12:

it varies from patient to patient..

depending how long and how much steroid you have been using..

what i can tell you it will leave a darker skin tone even when fully healed.

those darker skin tone means steroid has been used on that part.

I usually apply a lot of moisturising cream after using the vinegar, did you do the same?

The oral medication is the expensive part of the treatment, which I stopped after 6 months coz no more money liao:(

Now that my eczema is mostly gone after using ketoconazole, I still use the vinegar to soak my hands about thrice a week (15mins each hand), used to be everyday. I add in sea water salt to enhance the healing effects.

It is up to you to decide whether to continue with this TCM.

Cannot remember if this is mentioned. For those who get dry skin from eczema (either during recovery or because it dries up from medication), you can use moisturizer that has shea butter and vitamin E. Buy those moisturizer that says for super dry skin. The moisturizer is almost like petroleum jelly and not as watery as normal moisturizer.

You will notice that your skin is no longer that dry. Keep at it for a few days and your skin will return to normal.

Hi it's me once again on the forum.

From time to time, I've been getting forum members message/text me on how to deal with the eczema problems. As I said, possessing knowledge is the first step to dealing with the problem. It's a lifestyle problem - that means even before seeing any medical practitioner, you're required to clean up your lifestyle (diet/no alcohol/no processed/no possible allergens).

Having done so, if your eczema continue to still persist. I do recommend seeing Dr Ong Swee Ling who works at Yong Kang Clinic. Its simple, you can just google directly for her name. She has an online website and compared to many other TCM doctors, she has a ton of experience dealing with eczema patients. She sees more than 5 on a daily basis.

For sufferers who may have struggled with eczema for many years (due to prolonged steroid usage/problem doesn't go away despite seeing multiple doctors), I do recommend Nuskin. They have a range of products that work together in tandem to heal, nourish and cleanse the body from inside. I am by no means their agent and merely sharing what has worked for me throughout my long fight with eczema. After 3 months of usage, Ive started to seeing new skin grow out of my stubborn wounds and wounds clearing up throughout my body (face, legs).

There is simply no quick fix to solving this problem. My eczema results from a leaky gut and compromised immune system due to Western drugs consumption (pills/steroids). To get well, you need to restore the body not just from the outside but the inside too. This is why applying creams/moisturisers will not help if your eczema is rooted from within). But of course, there are milder eczema that comes from contact with allergens and will go away much quicker when no longer in contact.

If you're keen to know more and more importantly, pursue a natural way of dealing with eczema, do feel free to contact me at 81003255. I will be happy to share with you what I know, and help wherever I can because I know how much eczema sufferers have to go through.

Cheers

Hey guys,

I have seborrheic dermatitis. Most prominent would be the area beside my nose. I think 3-4weeks back, I went to the family physician, and he prescribed me some Gentrisone cream, and from what he said, it's a mild steroid cream. I don't actually feel very comfortable using too much of steroid cream, so whenever I apply, I always apply just enough to coat the area. He asked me to apply once every night after showering, and it should clear up in 3-4days. Truly, it really did. Just that after that, my area seems much more oily than usual, but no more dry skin or red patches.

But after about 1-2weeks, the area starts to become rosy red again, and feels super itchy and bumpy! I thought it might be an allergy to something, and I didn't apply gentrisone immediately. I waited for about 2 days but it didn't really clear up, and dry skin slowly started to form again. So I begin using gentrisone again for about 3-4days, and then it cleared up again.

Right now, about a week later, feels like the same thing is happening again. The area are itching constantly and I have to tap it to try to sooth it a little. Area is become slightly red and bumpy again.

Would just like to ask you guys. Is it okay for me to do this cycle of getrisone for 3-4days for every 1-2weeks? Would there be like long term side effects? And would this be recommended? Right now I am also constantly applying Cetaphil twice everyday after showering too.

By the way, only my face is affected by it. Apart from beside my nose, my forehead and eyebrow region and sideburns do get a little dry skin sometimes too. My scalp used to have it too, but it has since been controlled.

Thanks for the help guys :)
