Basically all of us can forget abt trying tcm for eczema, becos most of the tcm physicians in Sgp are really not up to standard. I say so becos i myself have eczema & i studied tcm. I visited so many physicians yet they don't seem to understand how to treat eczema.
So anyway to make better ?

Anyway after reading so much comments here. I would like to propose one doctor who cured my eczema or at least make my eczema better. The doctor is me myself.

I do have occasional flare up especially after a run in hot sun and excess sweat. But that will clear and dry up after few days ( don't know whether is heat rash or ezcema ). But for past 2 years changed my dietary habit and exercise a lot to sweat it out. Totally eliminated steroid treatment and occasional use cream like once bi monthly. My eczema went from obvious to olivious.

You can be your own doctor. But reject treatment that is harmful and temporaril. It's a long war.

I recently had very bad eczema on my face. Have angry red patches on both my cheeks. I've been to GPs and it's been five days, but the redness is not going away. Anyone has any idea how Long do I need to wait for it to clear? I did send it a request for an appointment to national skin centre. Anyone knows how Long does national skin centre get back with an appt?

I have come across some good testimony from people with mild to serious eczema conditions. And this is what they do:

1. replace shampoo with natural based ingredients to prevent harmful chemical from flowing down to body.

2. Use Melaleuca Renew Skin Therapy (Body wash and lotion) to keep skin moisture pH balance

3. Replace cloth detergent/power with netural pH detergent (Melapower) as chemical based detergent are chemically harmful that resides on the fabric that can enter our skin when worn during the day (Transdermal effect)

4. Drink Melaleuca Fiberwise to help body de-toxicate as eczema can sometimes be internal causing.

5. Likewise in (3), wash bed linen with neutral pH detergent

Wish you improvement in your skin condition in whatever sources that you are trying.

Eczema of the face

This is my experience and I have more or less recovered. Sorry I couldn't upload any photo in this forum (though I tried). I have been using oatmeal soap and jojobar oil after each bath by applying them on my face. First wash your face with oatmeal soap and afterwhich apply the oil onto the affected part of your face when you wipe dry it. Each person may have a different reaction to your treatment options. It has remedial effect on me and has served me well. It has taken some 2 months to recover to get rid of redness effects.

Hope it is useful for eczema sufferers!

EMU Oil

Got pic?

Where you buy?

I bought it from Kovan Heartland Mall but I think there are several outlets you can purchase from. Emu oil has lighten the itch but will not cure Eczema.

Address:
205 Kovan Street 21, Heartland Mall, #03-00 (Sothy), Singapore 530205
Next To Kovan MRT Station & Bus Interchange

Just wondering if swimming trigger eczema? My eczema has stopped for a year. I started swimming three weeks ago on a basis of twice per week, and my eczema returns now, unsure if it's just coincidence...

I used steroid cream to cure my condition a few years back. I wonder now since apple cider vinegar can almost cure death if that's an option here? /shrug

Hmm.... actually apple cider vinegar mix with water maybe possible too.

Just sharing my experience.
My case is a mild eczema which started one year plus ago. Started behind the knees and later spread to neck, armpit and elbow. Visited GP, polyclinic and NSC and was given topical steroid and moisturiser. The eczema always come back after i stopped applying steroid. Decided to give TCM a try. Did not see much improvement for the first 2 courses of oral med (消风散) and acupuncture (still very itchy and red cos no steroid application - unbearable phase) and only started to see improvement after 4th course.
Stopped the oral med after 5 courses. Now my skin is not red and scaly as before, at times very minor flare.

Hi, which TCM did you go please

Just returning to update on my status.
TLDR: Wrong diagnosis from almost every doctor (even TCM) I went to, ever.

My suggestion is to put the diagnosis of the doctor to the test. I can only input info based on my circumstance.

I no longer show allergy symptoms to egg yolks. After consumption it usually leads to skin bubbles on my palms, a lot of itching and scratching and scaly cracked skin.

Found out that I am not suffering from eczema, but the hand version of athlete's foot AKA fungus infection. Bought salicylic acid (in alcohol solution) and used for a few months now. Palm side is mostly back to normal skin, finger backs and nails still needs some time to recover.

If you recover using the below methods, congrats it was just fungus. If not you can still try using emu oil, can buy from the box rental shops (some of the chains, not all carry it). I did suffer from eczema recently, on my shoulder. Emu oil got rid of it.

1) Use the Salicylic in alchohol solution (can be bought from TCM pharmacies) on the affected areas. see if there is skin peeling and improvement after a few days.

2) Soak affected area in vinegar for 10 mins , pat dry then soak in baking soda for 10 mins. Repeat for a few days, see if there is improvement. Use cotton pads if affected area is not suitable for soaking (e.g Shoulders, face area)

3) keep affected area dry. can wash of course, but must pat dry asap. Fungus likes moist environment.

4) if there is damaged skin due to scratching or injuries, use vaseline on it. It promotes healing and acts as a shield against fungus invasion.

now i got two trials liao. now is emu oil, i dunno where u get your emu oil in singapore. i tried googling and can only find this emu oil (australia) but sold in singapore

one of my friends recommended crocodile oil, made in Singapore
anyone tried crocodile oil for your skin before?

I've personally had eczema and tried many methods which showed little or short-term improvements, till last year where I put on this clothing with some special fabric and it recover in a short time! I've no relapse until now. I am so happy!! I don't know if you will be interested, if you are I can share with you more.
