currently am engineering creams for eczema with a small pool of eczema patients.

tough job! realized everyone's eczema at different stage, some are psoariatic. in the end some cream worked very quickly for a few, but worsened for a few. need to keep switching >.<

Hi everyone,

I had eczema for more than 20 years. Was using steroid cream topically but as you all know this would only treat the symptoms temporarily and not cure eczema at all. I was also given steroid orally but this led to my body weakening so I stopped taking orally no matter how bad the flare was. Then I tried to totally cut off steroid topically as well and started applying apple cider vinegar diligently. But that made my flares worst. Which then led me back to applying steroid again, sigh.

Now I am taking a 12-supplement ingredient formulation in a capsule which helps in reducing inflammation and improve the immune system. My flares are now greatly reduced after three months, thank God. PM if you would like to know more.

Bought coconut oil with extra virgin oil on my son, it has been good so far for a month plus already to hydrate his skin to prevent him from scratching, else once skin has been broken, i will have to find other alternative because it can’t heal broken skin, only helps to hydrate skin.

This is the one i bought at lazada and pour some into a small bottle for easy carrying, it can also consume too but so far i haven’t take it oral yet.

Anyone here tried intense use of vaseline?

Petroleum jelly or moisturizer?

Both doesn't work for me.

The petroleum jelly works for broken skin though. Reduces scarring or no scarring if you scratch until skin breaks.

Guys any good doctor to recommend?
Recently I have rashes around my lower leg and it itches. Gradually now my arms also have.
Seen doc and given antibiotics and powder and cream to apply. Was told to avoid food like soya and eggs and seafood. But the condition doesn’t improve.
I don’t have any skin problem before.

i have been seeing Dr Loke from Loke Skin Clinic for more than 15 years. unfortunately, Dr Loke passed away a few year ago.
but the clinic is still in operation, with 2 doctors taking turn on alternate days. i am still visiting the clinic, and so far so good.

bump. anyone?

All along i've had sensitive skin but it flared up very badly about end 2017 thats when i visited NSC and was prescribed a round steroid cream and antibiotics..
initially the seroid cream worked like a charm but when off it, it would relapse much worse.

Second visit to NSC around start of 2018, i was given oral & cream steroids..
Again, it worked excellently and i was clean all the way till July where my joint areas started showing signs of red/swelling. Take note, all these time I have been applying moisteruiser.
However I didnt think much of it.. not untill August/Sep (now),
- 80% of my body has red dots /rashes (even scalp). Some spots being more severe.
- cannot stop myself from scratching esp. when I'm asleep.
- stings when shower (open wounds)
- bedsheet/clothes bloodstained
- colorless "pus" like liquid produced in certain areas
- skin drying up and droping like flakes

Went back to NSC early Sept, doctor just prescribed more steroid cream and antiseptic wash.
Also told me that i can try UV light therapy if nothing works but im still considering.
Oh btw, each visit to NSC costs me 2-300$.... fml

Just wondering if anybody have similar stories? able to advice?

Currently am on:
Cetaphil Restoraderm (Eczema prone) for body moisteruiser
Ceradan for face (as it's really ex)
Steroid cream (which i am trying to abstain now) is vizomet mometasone 0.1%
suubalm itch relieving menthol cream (cold effect so won't scratch)

Soap:
Cetaphil PRO Gentle Body Wash -for body
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser -for face
& Some antiseptic wash to leave on body awhile after soap

Really running out of options..
Even while wearing long sleeve, I would get looks from people as it's spreading to near my finger area and my face looks swollen and red.. Can barely go to work/out in the day.
Everyone just tells me not to scratch/apply moisteruiser. Seriously they all think I want to scratch meh :'( Sigh
.. I wake up in the middle of the night looking at my finger nails stained with blood
Would appreciate any sort of advice offered. Thank you so much..

I had similar experience as u and with NSC. They just keep giving me oral steroids. Which is only a temporary relieve. Things gets worse once u stop the steroids.

After abt 2 years with NSC with no improvement, I decided to find my own specialist. I went to Loke Skin clinic and somehow I got better. I have been a few years since I needed oral steriod.

Not sure how much is the consultation fee. Typically I pay $100-200 per visit, including medicine

Thank you guys. Will defo try them out.
Just curious, recently I have been doing alot of reading regarding eczema online and found out that many people stand by this belief that the root of eczema lies in your gut (i.e. what you eat)
Anyone have personal experience in regards to this?

Thanks.
