hmmm...i'm not sure if i even have eczema.
reason was, during 1 of my visit for a treatment which required me to leave a tube from my chest and protrude out from my arm, i easily developed some rash where the nurses used an adhesive tape to tape the tube to my arm.

so i was referred to the skin specialist and she says my skin very dry and have eczema.
but from what i see, on my body...i'm not even sure it looks like eczema. in the end, she never gave any meds, just those emulsion cream to use as soap and steroid cream.

but i get skin irritation easily, got pimples every now and then, then got little red dots which gets itchy if weather gets hot. but my skin is very dry and gets flaky easily and sheds skin too lol.

that amount of topical steroids can destroy your life. Its way more than enough to cause HPA axis suppression..

What are the side effects of topical steroids ?

skin atrophy = skin barrier disruption
HPA suppression/adrenal suppression (google this, very impt. These are highly systemic effects - fatigue, mood, depression, low energy, insomnia, insomnia, growth retardation)
steroid-induced eczema
rebound effects (eczema-like symptoms, rash, flareups, flaking, oozing, vasodilation)
topical steroid withdrawal

Coincidentally, these may be misdiagnosed as "standard eczema" and doctors give you more topical steroids to treat it. Yes, your inflammation will be suppressed and your skin may return to normal. But try stopping using these creams for a while and your symptoms come back again. This is the first sign of topical steroid dependency.

Hi guys,

Just found this video over at youtube and I think it is pretty useful. I am having eczema since 3 yrs old (32 yrs old now) and surprising the best part of my condition happen during army (BMT to be specific), no cream or any oral steroids. I am thinking strict diet might be a crucial part of the cure. The keyword is Leaky Gut Syndrome.

I gonna try out what was advise and try to cut down or totally eliminate the "No" food from my diet, it is gonna be difficult as most of them are actually what I eat daily.

I am not promoting anything here, just wanna share out an alternative method since I had went to TCMs and also western doctors to fix my problem but to no vain.

probably lifestyle changes? diet, stress, environment etc
would identify these trigger factors first before using medication

eczema died down for about a decade, now full force everywhere except my face <.<

besides putting topical steroids + moisturizers, i started seeing tcm also. but no report on results cos i just started.

in the meantime i used wet dressings too. those helped quite a bit. my 2 cents.

My 3 month old baby got diagnosed with eczema. She has very dry flaking skin, and some red patches all over her (cheek, body, hands, legs). Doc prescribed steriod and moisturiser.
Can anyone advise? Will she outgrow it?
Thanks

Should be able to. In the meanwhile, use soap centaphil, moisturizer physogel (spelling ?????) to manage the skin.
