The man’s annual income in 2023 was more than $860,000.

The judge noted that the man chose to resign from his Singapore employer in October 2023, shortly after the woman applied for maintenance.

Judge Phang found that the man’s annual income at his job in Canada, net of income tax deducted upfront from his salary, amounted to about C$341,000 (S$315,500).

Some perspective on the gap in earning power between SG and Canada.

No plans for China free trade deal, Carney says as Trump fixates on Canada

'We won't put all our eggs in one basket,' says Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand

Prime Minister Mark Carney says Canada has "no intention" of pursuing a free trade agreement with China, as U.S. President Donald Trump threatens to impose crippling tariffs if Canada "makes a deal with China."

"What we've done with China is to rectify some issues that have developed in the last couple of years," Carney told reporters Sunday morning in Ottawa, referring to trade items like Chinese-made electric vehicles (EVs), agriculture and fish products.

Carney said Canada "respects our commitments" to the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement, which requires any of the three countries to notify the others ahead of time if they want to pursue a free trade agreement with a non-market country — like China.

GST credits coming! Is it learn from SG? CDC voucher? But Canada is cash. Can use to go holiday also.

The quarterly GST payments will see an increase of 25 per cent over the next five years, and will also include a one-time top-up of 50 per cent this June.

According to the federal government, a family of four will receive up to $1,890 this year with the increases, compared to $1,100 a year as the credit exists now. A single person, meanwhile, would receive $950 this year compared to $540.

We may be almost a month into spring, but a weather system is forecast to drop up to 40 centimetres of snow in Alberta, and Calgary isn’t escaping seeing some.

According to a snowfall warning issued Wednesday afternoon by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), heavy snow is expected to intensify tonight. This heavy snowfall event will continue through Thursday for parts of central and southern Alberta, with total amounts of 15 to 30 cm.

Locally, higher amounts are most likely over the Highway 9 corridor between Calgary and Coronation, where upwards of 40 cm is possible.

Me too.
I looking forward to doing summer stuff already.
But the weather still snow.
I had to delay my summer tires installation from last week.

Long time no see @jieying_kk !

How are you?

I read that this winter season Vancouver got no snow at all?

Calgary has had quite a few sunny days and nice temperatures. Just that we still get these snow days. But it's going to be sunny and 15 degrees this weekend.
