Yesterday play 2 pok with my aunty and family. First time playing with her and both pok she is my up leg. She hardly feed me, and my luck was quite cui yesterday. 1 tai or 5 tai, always slower then someone else to gao. How to counter this type of guarding from my up leg ah?

This is something you will need to master yourself as well. Observe what others are throwing, especially your down leg, and throw tiles that people are already discarding while setting up your tiles.

Rule of thumb is don't depend on your up leg, and try and make more sets that are 2-3, 3-4 or 6-7, 7-8 in nature (coz chances of up leg discarding 1-2 and 8-9 is higher)

When you know you have a hard to eat up line, you can always keep the tiles that he/she will most likely discard. This kind play zimo door clear is the most fun.

Usually if I'm in your situation, I'll just keep calm and play as per normal, 心态 is equally important.

If luck chui, just faster hu can liao, don't have to think about making big wins.

More important don't shoot canon as much as possible.

But then again, your skills and luck must also be there lah, not that I'm saying you cmi lol.

Play more, pay more.

Take it as paying for tuition fee lol.

No one size fit all tip bro.

Try ur best to be unpredictable.

But I srsly think for gamers who don't have the luck on that day or if some other player luck on form, it's best to take the shortest route and faster game.

Mj is memory game, keep tiles that up line discard and discard tiles that down line discard helps a little.

Ya lo. Really roll eyes when my aunt still guard me when i have no tai or 1 tai only when the round pass 50% liao…she throw all i threw.. and still can gao 4-5tai zimo or flower up… else is hu the tile i throw…

Bought the SIA mj liao. Took some time to get use to it because the bamboo and ballball both color same same. Unboxing by tearing off the wanzi protection sheet, took 1-9 and a blank tile as 0 for 4d, never open. Next is play with my friends, end up i lose till pants drop. I throw any random tiles also can kena 4 tai, and they anyhow anyhow even kenna heavily guarded also can easily 5 tai. Perhaps can seal this SIA set liao

First few round blurry lor. Then slowly my eye start to get use to it liao. Also, the carving makes it hard to feel the tiles as most of it felt the same.

Was playing mahjong with some friends last Saturday. One of them was left with 5 tiles in hand and claimed Hu. She displayed her hand, then quickly cover it back, saying no Hu. So basically, she had zha hu.
The rest of us are abit shocked becos she was supposed to be a seasoned player. She asked if this should be zha hu. One player and I said yes cos all hand tiles have been displayed.
Then she suddenly recalled and said we need to guess what her eyes were. If we cannot guess correctly, then not considered zha hu. She turned to the third player who is her good friend to confirm that this is the right rule, but her friend said the 3 of us discuss and decide amongst ourselves. In the end, she said we didn't guess the eyes correctly, so no count and continue to play.

Is there such a rule? After reflecting, it doesn't make sense to me cos there is alot of ambiguity.

No such rule lol.

Anyway, next time just lay down the ground rules for zha hu in advance to prevent conflict.

My grandma house I play with all the 70-90 year old folks if zha hu means zha hu liao, payout is 5 tai to everyone and 5 tai (times 2) to the player that feed the zha hu.

If the zha hu player "zi mo" the zha hu, then he/she must payout 5 tai (times 2) to everyone instead.
