Maybe me prefers asian cuisine and culture bah….ang mo jiak nice but once in a while for me….
Don't know about other cities but the Calgary food scene for Asian food is actually really really good. I can't think of any Asian food I want to eat which I can't find here.

Thread for discussions related to retirement.

Come share what you are doing in retirement.
Food. Travels. Activities. Fitness. Health.
Also can discuss how you were able to retire. Money. Investments.

Realized there isn't really a thread in EDMW on this topic specifically.

Congratulations cyke69sg retiring at 57. 👍 That's a major milestone. 👍

By the time we retire, already 1 foot inside there. Can enjoy just enjoy..

I was feeling useless and unmotivated for quite awhile.

Recently, I started exercising again. Exercise can help to relieve the above symptoms.

Can retirees share how much you getting per month and how much your monthly expenses on average? I wanna have a gauge how much is enough to retire. :frown:

not a retiree but i think the how much is enough to retire really is a different situation for everyone....

it will be all about the monthly expenses.

singles vs married with kids, healthy parents vs parents requiring caregiving, luxurious lifestyle vs simple lifestyle, how much house loan and car loan left etc etc

all these factors will determine how high your monthly expenses will be and how faraway u are from retiring.

Investing is crucial for retiring comfortably
Retirement savings accounts is more for basic retirement needs only.

This is very true.
Learn to live well everyday. Because we don't know when tomorrow will never come anymore.

One of the problems with life is knowing when our lives will end. Makes it hard to plan when to stop working. When money is enough for the rest of the days . We often overestimate what we need vs what we actually end up using or underestimating how many years we have left to live.

The uncertainty is a headache for many.

Good to exercise. Find activities you enjoy doing. Stuff that gives meaning to you.

Many things, from wash toilets, wipe tables, sweep floors, reception counter duty, in charge of IT equipment during events, to help cutting/cooking/packing lunch boxes for followers in big events.
Keeps you busy. And it is for religious cause. Good karma.
