nope, eight don't support port-in to replace number as of now
Ok, thanks for the info

I did it with M1 Maxx, and cancelled 2 lines using this method.
What method? Are u referring to porting in from M1 Maxx or porting out from Eight?

And btw, my question was referring to already having Eight's number and wanting to port-in from another Telco to replace after 2-3 months, not choosing port-in at the point of application, this one confirm is one of the options.

The thing is, when you log in to an eight account, it's strictly for that particular mobile number.

You want to port in, you will be assigned another 'account'. 😅 Not sure why it's not tied to email/ IC number but mobile number, but your only way is to port in your existing non-eight mobile number to eight, and wait till your current free eight mobile plan expires.

I reckon it's to prevent ppl from getting 2 free months on their existing non-eight mobile plan/ number. Abit exploitative
Ya, guess the only way is to let the account lapse, then apply new line with port-in 😅

as replied earlier.

you have to decide whether the risk is acceptable eg port in got problems and is not fully functional, esp if this is your primary line

if you decide the risk is acceptable, then roll the dice.
if the risk is not acceptable, stay on heya if it is not giving problems, or consider an MNO where you can call up their CS
No port in problem for me for eight too.. I ported two lines, all good!

For my case, I already have the M1 Maxx number A which I want to cancel. So I ported another number B which I do not need to M1 Maxx replaced A. After successful, I ported another number C to replaced B. So I have my number C now and cancelled 2 numbers that I don't need anymore.

This can be done whenever you need.

My port in from simba was very smooth.

No more 5G but stable and fast connection. Funny how eight 4G is fasterer than simba 5G.
Simba 5G is faster but still patchy. Eight is starhub 4g, coverage is ubiquitous.
