When on eight network, Disney+ doesn't work (error msg that it's not available in this region). Strangely when I connect to my backup Starhub 4G Network on the same phone, Disney+ can connect.
Mine is okay. I just watched disney+ yesterday with eight network.

It’s always been illegal, and the charge is called "illegal use of the internet channel".
But like any other Chinese laws, it is just if they choose to enforce it or not.
Please la, if u do not know, dont mislead other

All VPN use or cross border private traffic is illegal unless it is a registered service for business use offered by a carrier such as China Telecom that has the authority to supply such a service. Unless it’s a VPN provided by your Chinese employer it’s most likely illegal.

lol a joker mixing local policy with non local sim card, clap clap
and non reply towards the singapore product in question

Whatsapp is banned since 2017
Youtube is banned since 2009
It is illegal to use these 2 apps in China.
You don't knn go other ppl country and do these illegal things okay.
base on uncle josh reply, all non china guest, please refrain from using non approved app, uncle josh will determine you are performing illegal action while in china
otherwise uncle josh will follow up and possibly may enforce it haha
despite it is your local carrier (non china carrier while on roaming) which allow u to use which unlce josh self contradict

is this a joke
country policy does not equate your sim card
non local sim card doesnt have restriction, similar to vpn service their local user use

Quite sure it is not just the "Chinese Law" being selective on implementation; seen elsewhere where charges of corruption being amended to blah blah blah.

Anyway, am able to access all the "banned" apps and websites while roaming with China Mobile (CMLink & eSIMHK) and China Unicom (Cuniq). This makes me suspect the ban applies to only local telco line holders (Chinese citizens) otherwise, why are roaming line holders able to access the "banned" sites via the local Chinese Telcos while local line holder can't even open the App or website? We are using the same network as the local Chinese in any case.

It is correct that the local Chinese Telco can offer internet services (non-restrictive) to company use, I use to work for a foreign company in China which apply for their internet to be non-restrictive so staff can use Google search, Gmail and Zoom etc.

tested sg sim card, nric / uen(biz) no different level of access, esim/physical aka oversea sim card sold online which are issued from other country doesnt have internet lock either

if u do a lookup of the ip of the sim card u use, including if u visit other country, your mobile ip will show up as your source of country you are from (treat it as a proxy), which i assume its routed back to your source or using your source ip to access site thus getting unrestricted

similar such info/observation have been shared for quite a long while on hwz by othero also

anyone switch to eight on iPhone then restart phone it says iMessage failed, waiting for activation…eight don’t support something or missing some carrier settings ?

I tried switching on and off the iMessage and has not been able to make it work from Eight. Does eight allows sending international sms.

Someone posted about this several pages ago, but I can’t remember what exactly was said or if it was resolved. You can search the thread.
