because some of the lines are not with me.. so i cant get OTP... haha
Then you should have checked first before passing the line over, right?

Now you GG, if their line suddenly stops working they'll blame you.

Ask them for the OTP, they can send it to you over WhatsApp.

No longer on trial. There are no more free plans.

The main limitation is that Eight, while cheap, requires the user to have initiative, read the FAQ fully and carefully, use some brains, and know how to troubleshoot problems. There is no hotline.

Eight isn't for everyone.
My maid have no initiative, cannot read english, don't use her brains sometimes but can use eight without problem .

Think depends on usage. Most of the questions or uncertainty seems to be about usage overseas

Did she do the market research, ordering, and setup all by herself?

I just bring her to retail shop. She hand over her work permit and $8. The guy did everything. New number. No need port in.

Topup I will ask her to go to the shop every month on her offday.

No need to look too far in this forum to see the type of (simple) struggles that people can have with Eight. A small number of them may be caused by issues with Eight, but the vast majority are from people not reading the FAQ and/or mucking things up on their end.

After all not everyone has such a good employer like you to guide them on exactly what to do. :)

This is what is written in FAQ…
  • Does roaming covers calls and SMS?
    • Our plans do include 288mins roaming calls back to Singapore and at the destination you roam at! For SMS, there will be no issues to receive OTP but our plans do not include outgoing SMS at the moment.

Same here, I need to send international SMS. Seems Eight cannot send international SMS, but receiving is fine. Same for Circles.

I'm wondering what other providers allow sending international SMS.

Absolutely no issues for VoWiFi on Eight for me. I can make and receive calls on VoWiFi.

Probably your home router problem. You can verify this by enabling VoWiFi on another WiFi network and testing if you can make calls.
Yes, you are right. It seems to be with the router.

But, I am yet to figure out how to fix it.

Hey guys, got a question here.

I signed up and ported in first week of November. Today I received an SMS that says:

Expiring soon! 3 Days Left. Your Double Eight on XXXXXXXX will expire on 06/12/24. Renew your mobile plan easily through our eight web https://account.eight.com.sg or head down to your nearest retailer www.eight.com.sg/where-to-buy

Does it mean every month I need to look out for the expiry date and renew monthly? If I miss it then my number gone ah? I thought it will auto renew and charge me accordingly every month.

As long the auto recharge option is turned on, Eight will automatically renew your plan using your existing credits or from the linked credit card.

Yes, I now checked. Auto recharge is turned on. But maybe I haven’t keyed in credit card details, which I will do it.

By the way, if my main balance has $8, how to let them know that I want them to use the $8 in the main balance to deduct for the upcoming payment first? Like use that $8 first then next time deduct from my credit card.

(The $8 in main balance is given by them for free during signup promo in November.)
