Sign up online need to provide credit card details right ?

If go to retail shop, just hand over $8 cash.
Credit card details can remove after sign up also, dunno what's the concern over cc. Or just link debit card then report lost get replacement from bank lo

How about your NRIC or SingPass as they'll need to capture your details for Eight? If you're comfortable handing over your physical NRIC, or signing onto SingPass on their device, go ahead.

Many digital credit card providers like YouTrip, Wise, Revolut, etc. provide "temporary" credit card numbers nowadays. Just use one time and delete them if you're paranoid. So easy.

Is your phone redmi?

I used to have this problem with redmi phone. Check your sms and delete the message that is previously sent from your bank. Then try again and see if you receive the OTP.
Today can't receive bank OTP from redmi hp. Any idea how to resolve?

Ok so it's time to play 100 questions. Such a fun game.

When did you port in / activate your Eight SIM? Is this a new number or port-in number? Is this the first time it's happening? Have you successfully received bank OTP before? If so, when was the last successful bank OTP received? Are you able to receive other OTP, for example, DNC registry: https://www.dnc.gov.sg/index.html

In JB now, comparing eight with Simba roaming
1) Both able to make overseas calls back to SG without any special settings needed
2) Both have 5G, eight auto connects to Maxis about 250mbps, Simba connects to Celcom 90mbps.
Thank you for the field report.

I always find it bizarre that Eight has 5G with roaming partners in Malaysia and possibly some other countries, but in SG their own Eight subscribers only has 4G. Like WTF is going on dude? It's an absolute disgrace!

Majority of such posts are by morons who didn't read the FAQ regarding 3 to 5 working days for singpost delivery. Then when their SIM card comes the next day, they never delete their misleading posts.
Facebook is full of these.
I think some people ownself put wrong address or just even block number and no unit also not impossible

Cos when u make agreements with the roaming partner and its interconnect party, u are subordinate to thier offerings.
I can imagine that they sell non-5g too, but at the same rates lol

Same when home ground again, surely mvne want to sell u 5g bells and whistles but will cost u arm and leg as seller also have not really make enough money back from their rollout of 5g. Not a good idea till pish comes to shove then die die scrape together money to implement or just exit business like some mvno

Apparently these were very common especially at the initial launch of Eight without Singpass and minimal field verification, as someone who spoke to an Eight insider shared somewhere in this long thread.

People think they can put no address, or missing floor, or missing unit number, and expect the SIM card to magically appear in their mailbox. How? By telepathy is it?

Geniuses.

Now of course with better field validation and Singpass MyInfo, such instances should be rarer, but of course not impossible. Genius has its limits; stupidity doesn't.

You're absolutely right of course, which begs the question: if Malaysia is selling 4G and 5G at the same rates, why is SG charging its own citizens "premium" pricing for 5G?

Did I blame eight?
Relax. You asked how to resolve. Since it's not an Eight problem, there's nothing you can do to contact Eight to fix it. It's also unlikely to be a phone problem, so you just have to contact your bank and make noise.

indoctrination of "be prepared to pay more for premium <product/service/good corporate governance/esg etc>"

Sad but true. Remember, SG is bizness friendly ok. So, just suck it up.

Having said that, I have a feeling that Eight will be offering 5G soon due to sporadic field reports of Eight users being able to connect to 5G probably due to Eight testing 5G, albeit at specific locations only and not for a very long time, it appears.

This means that Eight users will either get a premium 5G plan, perhaps with less data and minutes; or they may get 5G completely free. Fingers crossed for the latter! If the latter happens, you can bet even more people will port over to Eight! 5G at $8 OMG... FOMO!!!

A girl can dream.
