Not bad. Hope they are clean exclusive retailers.

My gotch! 找到要死
VOLTE is causing the problem
The following works after I tried it

SOLUTION

Dial *#*#86583#*#*

turn phone off and on again

go to settings>SIM cards and mobile networks>select SIM 1 or SIM 2 TPG>Turn on Use VoLTE

If Use VoLTE does not appear dial the code again and it shoudl appear.

Correct.

So I think this may only work on Xiaomi phones.

You only need to do this if you don't have the option to enable VoLTE and Wi-Fi calls.

Disable VoLTE check: *#*#86583#*#*
Disable VoWiFi check: *#*#869434#*#*

Once you have disabled the checks, you can then go into the respective SIM card settings and then enable VoLTE and Wi-Fi calls (if you want to use Wi-Fi calling).

The SIM pickup ones probably have stricter selection.

That's why when I signed up I specially went to one of those designated as SIM pickup.

They have more to lose than others if eight stop their services with them.

Went to the one at Tampines. Staff was knowledgeable. Very quickly done. I like that he let me check the inputs on the phone before he submit.

Just ported to eight on eSIM. Everything works well, just having the dreaded iMessage cannot activate the number (the wheel just keeps spinning). Have tried every solution on the web, but doesn't fix it. Anyone has this problem and managed to fix?

Anyone recently ported in with physical sim? Better to do online or at their retailers?

As above

port online, collect at pick-up shops/service centre
If you can wait 3 - 5 working days, snail mail delivery by Singpost is another option.

This is my preference as there is no need to go through a third-party retailer; not that I don't trust them.... oh actually wait, I don't trust them. I don't fancy handing over my NRIC to them or logging into Singpass on their device.

If you're just there to collect your pSim, there should be little risk as long as you don't physically let them handle your NRIC etc.

Also, always port-in online for the same reasons.

Until recently I still see FB posts asking about the non-delivery of their SIM cards. One powderful post simply said "where's my SIM card?"

My personal choice is sign up online and collect from the pick up point I'm comfortable with. Just need to provide info from email or SMS, don't need to show ID.

Majority of such posts are by morons who didn't read the FAQ regarding 3 to 5 working days for singpost delivery. Then when their SIM card comes the next day, they never delete their misleading posts.
