I think SIMBA counter will be either more countries shared in the main data plan.
or further increase international data roaming beyond 7 GB.
If I only need one sim card, this new eight plan will reign over any other plans tbh. Mostly using Simba as secondary sim as it's not reliable locally.

Currently, Simba's $10 plan doesn't include Indonesia for shared local data. And yet to share with Thailand too.

Don't know why they choose to share with Hong Kong first, but there are people asking them to include China as well.

Eight's SG-MY-ID-TH gets my (y) (y) .

1. Can upgrade when going travel then downgrade when come back sg?

2. If yes, how to time it?

2a. Upgrade is immediate, so balance payment for current month forfeited?
2b. Downgrade will effect from next new billing recharge?

SIMBA should just introduce a $7 plan - 200GB shared data to counter eight since $10 already 300GB shared data.

I still remember the time when Maxx started a $7.90 plan to counter Eight. Now how? :look:

Say my plan next due is 15 Apr, i can change in app (from $8 to this new $11.80) on 14 Apr? Or i can change now and takes effect on the upcoming cycle?

  • What eight plans can I change to? Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
    • Learn more about our plans here ($0, $8 and $18 Mobile Plans).
    • Change plan can be done via eight account or simply head down to our eight retailers/ service centre.
    • Your latest entitlements will take effect as soon as you upgrade. For downgrade, your plan will take effect after your current cycle of plan ends.

i feel it is unlikely. By launching senior plan, their ARPU will drop further and shareholders of starhub will be unhappy. Get more subscribers but profit is down.

Moreover, since the mid of last year, there have been a shift towards the $12 plan, adding more value to the plan. Then it will entice more customers to upgrade to the plan and improve their ARPU. Gradually, the need to recover all the money lost during their initial months of launch, free plan and top up bonus.
